Part A Let’s learn & Let’s do
Ⅰ. Analysis of the students
The students in grade 4 have been learning English for almost two years. They know some simple words so it’s important to raise their interests of speaking English in class. The teacher can use words or actions to help them learn better in our English class.
Ⅱ.Teaching Aims
Knowledge aim:
Students can understand and say the words hat, skirt, shirt, dress, pants, clothes and the sentences:
--I like that blue dress.
--Me too. I like those pants.
Ability aim:
Students can use the words and sentences to describe their clothes bravely.
Moral aim:
Students can get the interest of learning English.
Students can know: If you can, do it by yourselves!
Ⅲ. Teaching points
1. Teaching important points:
Learn the words: clothes, pants, dress, skirt, shirt, hat.
2. Teaching difficult points:
The plural form: pants. I like those pants.

Step one Warm-up
Greeting
Greet students with “Hello” “Are you happy ”
Sing a song together.
Review the colours.
Step two Presentation
Lead-in
Which colour do you like I like green. So I want to buy a green dress.
Presentation.
Show a series of pictures to teach the new words.
Use actions and self-made chants to help students to remember the words. (Some difficult actions in Let’s do part are also taught here.)
Step three Practice
Play a game: What’s missing
Play a game: What’s it
Stick the pictures near the words.
Step four Production
Clothes Shop
One is the shop assistant and the other is the customer.
Practice in groups.
A: Hello! Can I help you
B: Yes, I like that/those …
A: Sure. Here you are!
B: Thank you!
Step five Let’s do
Students try to read and do the actions.
Listen to the recording and imitate.
Read and act this part together.
Find the order you wash clothes.

It also teaches students to do the things on their own at home.>

1. Draw the clothes you like and talk about it.
