On the first day of fourth grade, my teacher, Mrs. Brown, told my class a story about her husband Rob, who is a brain cancer survivor. After what Mrs. Brown experienced with Robs’ illness, she decided to devote part of her life to an organization called Be head Strong, which works to support families with a member suffering from brain cancer.
Along with typical math and science, throughout the year, Mrs. Brown shared stories with us about people in Be Head Strong who had overcome some tough and unfair battles. Mrs. Brown never showed any sadness or confusion toward the disease. She instead spoke only with words of determination to find a cure. Whether news from Be Head Strong was good or bad, she always looked at the situation as an opportunity to improve and do more.
My parents taught me from a very young age that making wise choices with my money is important. I would always set aside most of my $ 2.50-a-week allowance. By the end of the school year, I had saved over one hundred dollars, $ 131.30 to be exact. One day was wondering what to do with it. I did not feel like any game or toy was worth the time I had spent saving. I thought about the stories Mrs. Brown told us, then I decided that was where I wanted my money to go.
As the last day of school approached, my mom helped me wrap the heart-shaped box full of dollars and coins. After all the other kids had left on the last day of school, I handed Mrs. Brown the present. As she opened it, I told her that I wanted the money to go to Be Head Strong to help people like Rob. She broke into tears and hugged me tightly.
People may not always realize how big of an influence one kind gesture can make. One teacher encouraged a decision in my life that has changed the way how I live.
4. What do we know about Mrs. Brown from paragraph 1
A. She had just survived a brain cancer.
B. She lost her husband to a brain cancer.
C. She founded a non-profit organization for brain cancer.
D. She was devoted to helping people with brain cancer.
5. Which of the following can best describe Mrs. Brown
A. Outgoing and organized. B. Positive and delightful.
C. Enthusiastic and patient. D. Kind-hearted and strong-willed.
6. What can we infer from the underlined sentence in paragraph 3

B. The author’s parents were strict with him in buying games and toys.
C. The author was old enough to get rid of games and toys.
D. The author had no time to pick his favorite games and toys.

The “24 solar terms” (节气) originated and was firstly used in China. It was created thousands years ago on the basis of practical needs of agriculture. Ancient Chinese people used it to guide agriculture production, special climate signs and even healthy living tips. Last year, the 24 solar terms was added to UNESCO’s world cultural heritage list. Now, it has been brought to life thanks to a creative designer from Southwest China’s Guizhou province.
On the eve of this year’s Qingming Festival, Shi Changhong released (发布) his version of re-produced and packaged characters for each solar term in the form of “moving art” of gifts. Since their first release on Zcool on March 29, the gifs have won great praise among the general public and quickly flooded social media with millions of hits during the festival period.
To maximize publicity, Shi released his work in three forms: video, animation and picture. The background sounds add to the brilliance.
“When I watch the short video, I can strongly feel the Chinese-style elements hidden in them. And it is really cool to liven up Chinese traditional culture in such a unique way.” WeChat user Xiao Feifei said.
“It is really a comfort to me to see so many people like my latest work. To be honest, it would really surprise me if the work does not arouse great interest among Chinese people. The 24 solar items is a deeply rooted concept that covers the essence of Chinese wisdom. However, only a small portion of people know all the names or the correct order of those terms. My intention is to increase Chinese people’s self awareness to learn more about our traditional fine culture. Actually, the 24 solar items work is only a part of my whole design program ‘Charm China’, which I started over a year ago.” Shi told China Daily.

How often do you exercise A new study found that most kids aged 12 to 15 weren't getting enough physical activity. The results were based on about 800 kids. As part of the study, the kids tracked and reported on their own activity levels, and took physical exams.
U. S. fitness guidelines suggest an hour or more of physical activity every day. According to the study, only 1in 4 U.S. kids get enough physical activity.
"It's certainly worrying to see that our kids have such a limited amount of physical activity each day,” said Dr. Stephen Pont. He is an expert on children's health.
Few kids in the study met the guidelines on physical activity that raises the heart rate and makes people breathe harder. Overall, about 25% said they got an hour of that kind of exercise every day. Kids also reported on which activities they did most often outside of school gym class--basketball for boys and running for girls.
The study found that fat teenagers were less active than normal-weight girls and boys. Fat girls were slightly less active than normal-weight girls, but levels were similar among overweight and normal-weight boys. The study also said that the percent of fat children aged 2 to 19 was 17%, or about 12.5 million kids.
"There's always room for improvement," said Tala Fakhouri, who was the leader of the study. She also said the results provide useful information to help with fitness campaigns such as Let's Move, which was initiated by Michelle Obama in 2010. To inspire kids to eat right and get in shape, Michelle visits schools and holds exercise events. She also calls on schools to offer regular gym classes.
The study also found kids who get physical education at school may get better grades.
12. What is the result of the new study
A. 800 kids don't get enough physical activity.
B. Most U.S. kids don't get enough exercise.
C. Kids should get physical activity every day.
D. It's important to take physical exams.
13. Which of the following sports do girls like best
A. Swimming. B. Basketball. C. Running. D. Gym.
14. What's the purpose of the campaign Let's Move
A. To help kids to keep fit. B. To provide useful information.
C. To offer regular gym classes. D. To hold exercise events.
15. According to the study children with enough exercise may__________.
A. be less active than fat children B. be more willing to help others
C. do better in their studies D. try their best to get in shape
B 13. C 14. A 15. C

本句中谓语动词是made,___(live)in different countries作定语修饰名词people, people与live之间是主谓关系,应用现在分词形式,故填living。
故填to/or。

根据句子分析可知,the words为主语,are为系动词,your vocabulary为表语。 故填your。

be doing...when... 这时......”,故将before改为when。
the way to sp.意为“去某地的路”,故将for改为to。

此处restaurant是第二次出现,前面用定冠词the,故将a改为the。
“what he wanted to do it”是宾语从句,what在从句中作do的宾语,因此it是多余的,故去掉it。

14. What's the purpose of the campaign Let's Move
A. To help kids to keep fit. B. To provide useful information.
C. To offer regular gym classes. D. To hold exercise events.
15 According to the study children with enough exercise may__________.
