Unit 6 Work quietly
【Teaching goal】:
1.To listen, read and write the verbal phrases: doing morning exercises, having...class, eating lunch, reading a book, listening to music.
2.To listen, read and write the sentence “What’... doing ”, then answer the question like“He/She is V+ ing”or“They’re V-+ing”
3.The students may listen, read and write the sentence “What time is it ”, and to express the time practiced, and distinguish a.m. and p.m.
【Teaching important points】:
1.To listen, read and write the verbal phrases: doing morning exercises, having...class, eating lunch, reading a book, listening to music.
2.To listen, read and write the sentence “What’... doing ”, then answer the question like“He/She is V+ ing”or“They’re V-+ing”
【Difficult point in teaching】:
To grasp the present participle verb change rules, and ask others “What’...doing ” then give the answer.
【Problem of default】:
The student may write:haveing (×) having(√);
【Teaching preparation】:
PPT, flash cards, hand out
【Teaching process】:
I. Warm up & lead in.
1.To greet all the students.
2.To listen to a song and the students may answer the question:
Can you see the clock What time is it What’s brother doing
To introduce one student in the class,and other students may say something about him.
II.Presentation
Ask and answer: The teacher shows the clock on PPT,and the students may ask and answer:
a.What time is it ---It’s 8:30 (10:00 / 12:00 / 4:00 / 7:00 )
What’s he doing ----He is having English class.( doing morning exercises, eating lunch, reading a book, listening to music)
b.The teacher may write the whole sentences on the blackboard.
a.To introduce Chen Jie to the students, the teacher shows the flash cards of her, then ask the question: “What time is it ” and “What’s he doing ”, the students may answer.
b.They may open the book and read the phrases and the sentences.
Ⅲ.Practice
To play a brain storm of remember the phrases,and say the whole sentences to practice.
Chen Jie is doing morning exercises at 6:00.
To do the practice on PPT together,and choose the correct words.
To finish the handout in pairs,then check the answer together.
Ⅳ.Consolidation
To make a conclusion.
V.Homework
Recite the words on page 59.
Make five sentences on the notebook.
