C Story time
Analysis of teaching material
This lesson is the last lesson of unit6 PEP book2.Its a story which aims to consolidate the main sentences and words about numbers of this unit.Besides,it also aims to foster students' ability of reading and comprehension.
Analysis of students
The objects of this class are students in Grade3.Students in this phase are curious and active.They are interested in the vivid pictures and videos.Therefore,teacher should attract their attention by using various teaching methods.

Step1 Warm up
Greeting
Sing a song“Count from 1 to 20”
Divide students into four groups for giving the prizes.
(设计意图:唱关于数字的歌曲即能够活跃课堂气氛,也能够复习数字,为以下的故事教学做准备。分组是为了对学生进行评价。)
Step2 Pre -reading
Speak out the numbers quickly.
Ask and answer

(Lay out the sentences:“How many...do you have ”“I have only...”Teaching the word“only”)
Introduce the characters of this story and present the picture of the story.Students observe the picture and fill in the blanks with teacher.
Who What Results(结果)
Present the pictures to teach “have a race”and“won”。
Students guess who won the race.
(设计意图:问答操练主要用于复习句型“How many...do you have ”以及单词“only”的教学。通过一些比赛的图片让学生感知及理解“have a race”and“won”的意义。)
Step3 While-reading
Students watch the video and answer the questions:How many apples does Zip have How many apples does Zoom have
Check the answers.
Students read the story after the video.Try to imitate the pronunciation and intonation.
Students read the story together.
Students read the story in roles.
Practice the story in pairs emotionally.
(设计意图:让学生跟读并模仿发音为了提升学生的语音语调水平。多种方式的阅读加强学生对故事的熟练与理解程度。为以下的输出做准备。)
Step4 Post-reading
Ask some groups to act out the story.(Give some comments like:Good performance,thank you!/You did a good job...)
