Teaching Aims:
1,To help the students know how to make positive and negative sentences using the verb” to do” in the simple present tense.
2,To enable the students to learn how to ask and answer questions using the verb”to do”.
3,To develop the students’ ability of the co-operation.
Teaching Procedures:
Step I:Lead in
1,Present some pictures about some basketball stars in NBA,Then ask:”Look,Who are these men in the picture?” Help the students answer:”They are basketball players,They play basketball very well.”Write these two sentences on the blackboard.Then Circle the verbs with the colourful chalk.”This is Kobe.He is very tall.He looks very strong.”The teacher says.Write these sentences on the blackboard,too.
2,Let the students compare the sentences on the blackboard,Help students to find out the differences.the teachers says:”Look at these sentences.Pay attention to the verbs.We use the verb”to be”in these three sentences while we use the verb”to do”in these ones.”
3,Present some sentences on the screen:”Kobe plays basketball very well.Many students like him.They often watch his games on TV.In my free time,I like watching TV too.But my friend doesn’t like watching basketball games on TV,she likes reading.She often reads storybooks.”Help the students comprehend and explain when we talk about some things we often do ,some things that are always true,some things that are true now ,we use the simple present tense.
4,Help the students compare these sentences,Remind the students paying attention to these verbs:When the subject is he/she /it,we need to add an “s”to the verb.
5,Help the students to read the table on page 23,let the students know how to add an “s” to the verb,How many ways are there to add an “s”?What are they?Emphasis some ways that the students can make mistakes easily,such as:”以辅音字母+Y结尾的动词,去掉y,再加ies.”
Step II:Practice
1,present some verbs on the blackboard,ask the students to write their single forms:

Play________have________guess_________match_________
2,Millie is writing about herself and her classmates.Please help her complete the sentences in part A with the words in the box.Then ask five students to read them loudly,the other students check the answers .
3,Ask students to write five sentences to introduce their/their habits,hobbies and abilities.
Step III Presentation
1,Set up a real situation for the students,present some negative questions and how to ask and answer questions with the simple present tense.the teacher says:”Millie and Simon are talking about their favourite sports.Please read their conversation.”
Millie:I like O’Neil very much.He plays basketball very well.
Simon:Of course.He looks very tall strong.Do you often watch his games?
Millie:Yes,I do.What about you?
Simon:Oh,I don’t like basketball.My father and I like football very much.

2,Lead the students to learn the table on page 23
Step V Practice
1,Help the students finish the exercise in Part B on page 24.Then ask the students to work in pairs to ask and answer questions according to the information in the table.Such as:1,Does Daniel like walking?2,Do Amy and Sandy enjoy reading?...
Step VI Activities
1,playing a game
Put some flashcards about some sports and daily activities…,Ask the students to take one card out and show it to the other students ,help them ask and answer the questions:Do you…?

2,Do some exercises in Part C on page 24 then check the answers.
Step VII Extensive
1,Ask students to work in groups of four to make a dialogue about weekend activities ,then write down the conversation in their notebooks.
2,Give students five minutes to prepare then choose some students to act their dialogue in front of their classroom.

Step one: Free talk
T:What sport do I like?Can you guess?You can ask me some questions and try to get the answer, encourage Ss ask me questions.
Step two: Presentation
T demonstrate the pictures of Millie,Simon, Kitty,Amy, Sandy and Daniel, then T says do you remember these Ss ?Do you know what activities they like?Ss give me answers.
Step three: Presentation
T: Mr Wu is asking his Ss about their favourite sports.Can you help Mr Wu write the correct letters in the boxes?
Ss listen to the atape and complete the information , T play the tape several times, and then T check the answers.
T: Mr Wu is writing notes, he wants to introduce the sports his Ss like,would you please help him? Let’s listen to the conversation again, please complete the notes in Part A2.T: Have you finished Mr Wu’s notes?Please check the answers first in pairs,then we’ll check as a class, then let Ss read the conversation together.
Step four: A game
T: Let’s make a survey. You can ask your group mates something about their favourite sports, after that, please write a note to report to the whole class. Three minutes later, invite some Ss of ability to demonstrate.
Step five: Presentation
T: Hello, do you like sports?Where do you often play…? When do you usually play…? What do you often do after school? Sports are good for us. They are fun, write the fun on the blackboard, explain “fun”just means “interesting” ,the phrase “have fun/have fun doing/it's fun to do…”
T: What else can we do after school? I like music best, that means my favourite activity is listening to music, Jay Chou is my favorite pop star, I like him best, who else likes him in our class?Introduce the word “else”, something else/where else…
T: Sandy and Millie are talking about what they often do after school, please listen to their conversation and find the answer to the question ,what activities does Sandy like to do after school?S find the answer: She plays basketball. She sometimes listens to music and reads books.
Step six: Do some exercise(T/F)
Music made Sandy feel great.
Sandy also likes playing volleyball.
Millie likes listening to misic.
Millie plays volleyball with friends.
Millie reads a lot of interesting books.
Then check the answers and correct the wrong sentences.
Step seven: Consolidation
T plays the radio again, divide Ss into 2 groups, doys play the role of Millie, girls act as Sandy, ask Ss to read the conversation after the tape sentence by sentence.
T: OK, my dear friends, it’s your turn ,now I’ll divide Ss into 4 groups, encourage Ss make a new dialogue according to the dialogue in books, at last, T choose different Ss to go in front to show their dialogue.

Step one: Warm-up
1. Introduce the topic with the 30th Olympic games and all the athletes have got good results,put some the pictures about the game on the blackboard. Then teacher says: I like Lindan best , he does well in badminton, he got many golden medals in the past matches, what sport do you like? Why?
2. Let the students choose the sport they like and talk with them,give T some reasons.

3. Help students revise the names of sports and present the new words.
Step two: Presentation
1. Ask students: What sport do you like best? Why? And what benefits can sports bring us?

The teacher says sports are loved by you Ss ,it can bring health to us, can make us relaxed, it is popular in our dear friend Hobo and Eddie as well.
Now the two friends are talking about their favorite sports.Listen to the conversation between Hobo and Eddie and then answer the question:

3. Listen to the tape again and answer the other question:

Listen and repeat ,then act it out .

6. Then let Ss fill in the blanks according to the new words.
We know Eddie eats a lot and sleeps a lot ,he is fat,he needs to lose weight,what should he do?I give Ss answers, such as eat less, more exercise, sleep less, active attitude to life and so on.
Finally read the dialogue together.
Step four: Consolidation:
As Ss, we have too much work, too many lessons form morning to night, we have less time to esercise,many of us have bad eyesight,some are weak, some are fat, what should we do to keep healthy?
Divide Ss into groups and they discuss the topic, then one from each group gives me the answer, such as : eat less meat and more fruit and vegetables, do morning exercises, take a walk after supper, go outside instead of playing computer games all the time, watch less TV and so on.
Step five: Summary
In this lesson, we revised and learned some names of sports first. Then we talked about favorite sport. After class you can practice conversations about sports with your classmates.

Step 2 presentation
Ask the students: Do you like sports? What’s your favourite sport? Who is your hero? Where can you watch his/her matches?

⑴Show a picture of David. Today we’ll meet David. He is a student at Sunshine.Middle School. Do you want to know more about him. Please read the article and answer some questions:
