Should students do volunteer work on weekends We did a survey in our class meeting last Friday. Here are the results.
60% of the students think students should do volunteer work on weekends. It is a good experience and it can help students get their dream jobs. Doing volunteer work is a good way to spend their free time so that they won’t spend their time doing some boring things, such as playing computer games. However, others disagree. They think it wastes their time and influences their studies. Some parents also worry that students will make some bad friends. What’s more, students are too young. They may get tired easily.
I think doing volunteer work can open our eyes to the outside world. We can also improve our living skills. It’s good for our future.(135 words)Unit 2 I'll help to clean up the city parks

五、阅读理解
Ladies and gentlemen, thank you very much for coming to this concert. I hope you enjoy the concert. As you may know, all the performers have donated(捐献) their time to help us.
The purpose of this concert is to raise money for children in Africa. Every day hundreds of children in Africa die because they have diseases or don’t have enough food to eat.
There are two main reasons. First, there is no work for the children’s parents, so they have no money to buy food or medicine. Second, the governments in many African countries do not have the money to take care of the poor.
Most African countries are poor. The land is not good for growing food and the weather is also bad for farming. There are many organizations trying to help these poor people. The organization we are trying to help, the Feed Africa Fund, spends millions of dollars every year on food for the poor people in Africa. This money comes from people like you—kind, generous people who do not want to see children die of hunger.
All the money you give this evening will go to the Feed Africa Fund. Just one dollar can buy enough rice or corn to feed a family of four for three days.
How much do you spend on food every day Ten dollars Twenty dollars I am sure you can spend a little less on your own food so that you have a few dollars for the Feed Africa Fund.
Ladies and gentlemen, we will now take up a collection. Please be generous.
