Reading
I.Teaching aims
1、Knowledge aim(知识目标):
Students can grasp some important words and phrases, such as river, boat, bridge, village, villager, ropeway, between, dream, many, leave, afraid, cross etc.
2、Ability aim(技能目标):
Students can understand the whole passage by using different reading skills, such as skimming, scanning and careful reading.
3、Moral aim(情感目标):
Students can learn: as long as there is a dream, there is hope, as long as there is hope , there is joy in living.
II.Teaching importance and difficulties
Importances:
1、Get Students to learn to know the fact that it is difficult for the students in the poor village to go to school.
2、Get Students to learn how to skim and scan the details.
Difficulties:
1、It’s a bit difficult for Students to understand some long sentences.
2、It’s a bit difficult for Students to use different reading skills while reading.

Step 1. Words and expressions
Show some pictures and the students try to say the words.
Step 2. Before reading
Look at the picture and title below. Guess what the passage is about.
1) What can you see in the picture
2) Where are they going to go
3) Is it dangerous
Step 2. While reading
1.Skimming
Read the article quikly, then match each paragraph with it's main idea.
Reading skill (skimming): Do not read every sentence carefully. You can only read the first or the last sentence.
2.Scanning
Task 1. Read the passage and answer the questions.
1)How do the students in the village go to school
2) Why do they go to school like this
3) Does the boy like his school Why
4)What is the villagers' dream
Task 2. Read the passage again. Complete the sentences with the words from the passage.
Reading skill (scanning): The key words can help to find the answers quickly.
3. Careful reading
1) To learn some important language points.
(1) It is + adj. (for sb.) to do sth.
(2) between A and B
(3) be afraid / be afraid of / be afraid to do sth.
(4) be like / look like
2) Retell the passage

Group work:
To have a bridge is Liangliang's dream. And we all hope his dream can come true. But, how can his dream come true Please talk in groups and do a report.
