1.学生能够听懂、会说、认读并书写下列词汇:exercise, minute, hour
2.学生能够认读、理解并运用下列表达法: How often … How many minutes … ,并能够意识到锻炼使我们身体保持健康和强壮,平时尽可能多的参加锻炼。
教学重难点:
1.下列词汇的读音:exercise, minute, an hour
2. 学生能够运用How often… How many minutes do you … 进行问答交换有关锻炼的信息。

Step1 Lead in导入 1.Greeting. 2.Free talk. How are you What’s the weather like today Do you like sunny days How do you feel Greeting. Free talk. 师生从问候开始自然对话,聊一聊天气,聊一聊真实的感受。正值天气炎热,学生自然而然谈到热得想吃ice cream, 讨论是否是健康的食物,继续引入健康的话题。
Step 2 New concept T: Look at this picture, which one do you want to be (出示对比图片) Why So, everyone wants to be healthy and strong. But how can we be healthy and strong T: Yes, we should always have breakfast, brush teeth, and do exercise. But what is exercise Now let’s listen. (板书:Running/Walking/Playing football/ Playing ping-pong is exercise. ) That’s good. Exercise helps make your body healthy and strong. 继续追问:What else is exercise What exercise do you do T: Yes, most of you usually do exercise. What exercise does Danny do T: How often does Danny walk How many minutes does Danny walk (关注学生的答案是如何获取的,培养学生细读的能力。) Are you sure Is it five minutes Ok. (使用钟表设置) From 10 to 11, that’s an …. Yes, hour. (板书,领读) How many minutes are there in an hour Look, from 8 to 9, that’s … From 8 to 8:30, that’s …. From 8 to 9: 30, that’s … We know Danny only walks for 10 minutes a day. He needs more exercise, right But, look, why is he so happy How about Mr. Wood and Jenny Compare the picture and think about the questions. Listen, think and answer. (注意关注动词的ing) Pair work. Listen, watch the text video and answer the question. He walks. Listen, repeat and think about the two questions. Students may answer “Five minutes.” So discuss why or why not. Think and answer. An hour, half an hour, an hour and a half. Watch the picture carefully and think about why. He thinks Danny needs about an hour of exercise a day. 基于图片,对比人物引发思考,唤醒已知并激活生活经验,自然引出本课主题:exercise. 通过听课文,获取exercise的基本含义,并以此来激活更多的锻炼项目词汇,理解并运用如:playing badminton, jogging, swimming, playing volleyball, playing tennis 等等。在跟学生交流时可追问:When do you swim Who do you swim with Can you swim fast Why do you like to swim 通过一听二跟读整体感知对话,了解Danny的锻炼情况。由问题引出重点词汇,minute, hour. 利用实物钟表,现场体验minute, hour 的意义和联系。 Minute 和hour 之间的转化是本课时的难点,利用钟表实物展示它们之间的转化,并进行操练为理解下一篇短文做准备。 基于图片中每个人的表情不同,联系生活经验,思考每个人表情背后的原因,并用英语表达自己的观点,培养学生英语思维。
Step 3: Reading 阅读巩固 T:Danny needs more exercise. How about Li Ming. Look at the table. What do you know from the table How do you know the answer How many minutes are there in an hour and a half Look at the table and think about what you know and what you don’t know from the table. Read and write.( 3minutes) Peer check. Check in the open class. 先让学生从表格中仔细观察,预测Li Ming 的锻炼情况,可以了解到什么,还需要填写哪些信息。既锻炼了学生关注细节,读题的能力,又培养了学生用所学目标语句进行提问的能力。 在对正答案的过程中,关注学生如何获取的答案,培养学生阅读方法。
Step 4: Survey 运用表达 T: How about you? How about your friends Now let’s do a survey. How many people do you need to ask What do you need to ask Have you finished Let’s show your survey. Who did you ask Do you think he has enough exercise What else exercise can he do Do a survey. Using: What exercise do you do How often do you do exercise How many minutes do you do exercise Share the result. 任务的开始必须有清晰的指令!学生必须明确活动步骤和所用语言。因此,用问题线索帮助学生明确活动要求。 调查活动激发学生使用本课目标语言真实自然的交流。并通过教师的追问,对所调查的同学的锻炼情况进行简单的评价和建议,培养学生综合分析评价的高阶思维。
