Like most tourists, the first thing you want to do in Anhui Province is to visit Yellow Mountain. Yellow Mountain has an area of about 160 square kilometers. There are about 82 mountain peaks in it, with 77 mountain peaks over 1,000 meters high. Its highest mountain peak Lian Hua Peak is 1,864 meters.
Yellow Mountain is famous for its great beauty: pines in different shapes, strange rocks, seas of clouds and hot springs. Yellow Mountain is a good place to travel to any time of the year. In spring, there are lots of colorful flowers on the mountain; in summer, it is a joy to see the green-covered peaks rising from one on the other. In autumn, the whole mountain is in color and life; and in winter, there’s a world of magical frost and ice. There are about 1,500 kinds of plants, including at least 300 kinds of plants that can be used as medicine, so the mountain is also home to many wild animals and birds. That’s why it is a UNESCO World Heritage site.
