课题:Unit 7 Open Day
学情分析
本单元教授对象为五年级学生,他们经过四年多的英语学习和语言积累,已具备了一定的听说读写能力,能用简单的英语对一般的情景进行比较完整的描述。他们年龄在十一岁左右,生性活泼好动,直观形象思维较强,同时逻辑思维在发展,有着极强的求知欲和表现欲。 学习策略方面,他们掌握了简单的单词拼读方法和阅读策略,具有一定的自主学习能力和用英语进行思维、交际的能力。在以前的学习中,学生已经接触并基本掌握一般将来时,为本单元的学习打下了一定的语法基础。
每年,大部分学校都会举办教学开放日活动,因此,学生对Open Day这一话题既熟悉又感兴趣,他们乐于参与话题的讨论。课文中第一次出现了关联词First, ... Next, ... Then ... After that, ... Finally, ... 等顺序副词的应用,学生的主要困难在于如何正确使用顺序副词描述事件发生先后顺序。
教材分析
牛津教材采用“模块建筑式”编写体系。教材以模块(Module)为单位组织教学内容,模块内的语言材料围绕一个主题展开。本模块主题为Things we do,是基于4A Module3 Places and activities主题及语言知识点的进一步升级。而本单元的话题Open Day也是在4A Unit7 At school的基础上有所延伸。Open Day是学生们非常熟悉的话题,他们基本都参加过学校教学开放日活动。
本单元的内容是孩子们基于课本提供的“学校开放日”的语境下,制定开放日的活动计划,了解家长在学校开放日参加的活动。课文涉及两个重要的语法:一般现在时及一般将来时。对于一般现在时,学生已经非常熟悉,在本单元需巩固与加强。以will为标志的一般将来时是本册的重点句型,根据前面所学的知识,学生在本单元中还将学习“不同人称+will”的表达。
三、单元设计思路和依据
义务教育阶段英语课程标准(2011版)中指出,英语课程的总体目标为“通过英语学习使学生形成初步的语言运用能力,促进心智发展,提高综合人文素养。”总目标的核心部分是综合语言运用能力,语言技能和语言知识为其基础。所以,创设真实语境是培养学生综合语用能力、提高语言技能、丰富语言知识的关键。本单元基于学校开放日这一主题,设计了四个课时分话题,进行单元整体设计。它们分别是:

课时二:The Open Day at Rainbow Primary School
课时三:The Open Day at my school
课时四:Sharing your Open Day plans
第一课时的内容文本为Ms Guo和学生讨论学校开放日活动的场景。本课时不仅要求学生掌握meet, school gate, art room, hall等词汇,还要求学生能用First, ... Next, ... Then ... After that, ... Finally, ...等副词描述事件发生的顺序。含有will的一般将来时句型在Unit3中已学过,本课时将此句型与副词结合融入新语境,能够更好地帮助学生理解这些副词在句中的含义和用法。
第二课时是上一课时的延续,提供了新的语言运用情境。学生阅读短文《学校开放日》,了解家长在学校开放日参加的活动,进一步理解核心词汇和句型,培养阅读技能和主人翁意识。
第三课时要求学生运用前两个课时所学知识对学校开放日进行问答,在真实语境中使用一般将来时及顺序副词,并按照问答情况补充开放日海报。同时,本课时还会介绍英国校园活动Parents’ evenings,提高学生跨文化意识,开拓视野。
第四课时在复习前三课时内容的基础上,以School Food Festival 为主线,提出了不同主题的Open Day这一概念。学生将要在这一语境中,综合运用所学知识,阅读并理解Lilly制作鸡蛋三明治的过程。再以此为参考,运用First, ... Next, ... Then ... After that, ... Finally, ...等表达先后顺序的副词进行演练。鼓励学生积极思考,自己设计感兴趣的开放日主题和计划。
这四个话题相互关联,螺旋上升,遵循了由易到难的学习规律,也符合从课本到生活的语用目标。话题设计遵循以教材内容为语量基础,以单元主题为语境基础,以话题推进为语用基础的原则,层次递进、相互融合,更好地达成从初步感知到熟练运用语言的学习目标。

五、单元教学目标
1. 能在Open Day的语境中正确运用本单元的核心词汇和短语:school gate, art room, meeting room等。
2. 能用 First, ... Next, ... Then ... After that, ... Finally, ... 描述事件发生的先后顺序。
3. 能正确读出字母组合air, are, ear在单词中的发音,并能迁移运用到其他含有相关字母组合的单词拼读中。
4. 初步了解英国学校的家长会。
5. 制定学校开放日的活动计划,积极参与学校活动,培养主人翁意识。
