单元教学设计框架
课题:Unit 9 Seeing the doctor
学情分析
通过前四年的英语学习,五年级的学生已经具备了较强的听说能力和一定程度的读写能力,具备一定的英语语用和自主学习能力。在语言知识储备上,他们知道身体的常见部位,也能大致表达自己的感受。从思维发展来看,五年级的学生由形象思维向抽象思维过渡,意义识记逐渐占据主导地位。从性格特点来看,学生具有很强的模仿能力和表现欲望,参与活动积极性高。本课的话题为就医,来源生活,贴近生活。因此,老师应该通过设置真实语境,设计适合学生的多样化教学活动,鼓励学生大胆实践,提高学生的英语综合运用能力,体会学习的喜悦。
教材分析
牛津教材采用“模块建筑式”编写体系。教材以模块(Module)为单位组织教学内容,模块内的语言材料围绕一个主题展开。本课所在模块为5B Module 3: Things we do. 该模块的三个单元都围绕着生活中我们会做的事(如:校园参观日、购物、就医)而展开。本单元是Module 3的第三个单元:Unit 9 Seeing the doctor
本单元主题是关于生病、就医以及如何对待病症的相关内容,分为四个课时教授。本单元教学重点为询问(what’s wrong with you )和描述病情I have a cold/fever/headache/toothache…。核心句型为使用You should…/ You shouldn’t…来表达生病后的合理建议。虽然关于病症的内容为牛津教材中首次出现,但是对于表达身体是否舒适(feelings)及关于良好的生活习惯(food/sports/sleep)等话题,学生在前几册的学习中已有所涉猎,为本单元学习奠定了很好的基础,也体现了教材“话题-功能-结构-任务”的系统性和螺旋形的编构体系。
三、单元设计思路和依据
义务教育阶段英语课程标准(2011版)中指出,英语课程的总体目标为“通过英语学习使学生形成初步的语言运用能力,促进心智发展,提高综合人文素养。”总目标的核心部分是综合语言运用能力,语言技能和语言知识为其基础。所以,创设真实语境是培养学生综合语用能力、提高语言技能、丰富语言知识的关键。基于核心内容,创设不同情景的自然转换,不断复现核心知识点。通过多层次的活动设计,激发学生热情,促进情感体验,落实语用功能。本单元以课本主人公kitty为线索人物,创设“学校健康日”,学生们可以通过Kitty在校的学习生活,Kitty生病就医,Kitty回家休息,Kitty病好返校四个关联场景,学习生病就医相关知识,鼓励学生养成良好的生活习惯,爱生活,爱自己。
基于该主题,我们设计了四个课时分话题,进行单元整体设计。它们分别是:
课时一: Kitty at school(健康日)—Health Day: Knows about the illness
课时二:Kitty at the hospital(就医日)— Kitty sees the doctor.
课时三:Kitty at home(养病日)— Mum tells a story to Kitty.
课时四: Kitty goes back to school(健身日)—School Fitness Day逻辑关系如下:第一课时的内容文本为学校举行健康日,邀请医生进行日常疾病的普及和身体护理,初步学习核心词汇和核心句型;
第二课时在前一课时的基础上先进行简单的复习,后又设立Kitty生病的环节,通过Kitty与医生的对话,巩固强化如何综合运用核心知识点去询问病情,知道病因,如何调护身体;第三课时在前两个课时的基础上,以Kitty在家中养病为背景,通过Kitty妈妈讲无齿老虎的故事,教育学生生活中应该如何保护牙齿,引导学生懂得养成良好的生活习惯,关爱身体健康;第四课时为综合复习课时,通过Kitty返校后,学习即将迎来健身日活动,通过多维度的活动设计,复现核心知识点,实现语言知识和语言技能螺旋式上升。本单元以四个关联场合为线索,设计由浅入深、由易到难的学习活动,将会话教学、故事教学和书面表达相联系,深化学生英语核心素养的培养。

五、单元教学目标
1. 能在就医的语境中正确运用本单元的核心词汇和短语:have a cold/headache/fever/toothache, medicine, rest等。
2. 能用核心句型 … should … 和 … shouldn’t…给出就医建议。
3. 能正确读出字母组合ay, ai在单词中的发音,并能迁移运用到其他含有相关字母组合的单词拼读中。
4. 能在语境中正确运用What’s wrong with you Let me have a look.等日常用语。
5. 通过学习任务,帮助学生巩固和综合运用本单元所学的知识和技能,知道如何养成良好的生活习惯,加强身体锻炼。
第四课时
课时话题:Kitty goes back to school: School Fitness Day
教学内容:Revision, Practice ( 活动手册P59 Look and say. P108 Let‘s read )
教学目标:
通过Look and say以及retell的练习,在前三个课时的基础上,进一步复习和巩固核心词句的运用。
2. 通过Let’s read的阅读活动,拓展阅读能力,培养精读、略读等阅读策略。
3. 通过制作健康建议的思维导图,培养学生的习作能力,并引导学生在日常生活培养健康的行为习惯,发展学生用英语做事情的逻辑思维能力。
教学重点:在前三个课时的基础上,进一步复习和巩固核心词句的运用。
