My last winter vacation, travelling to Xishuang Banna
我的上一次寒假，去西双版纳旅游。

Ever since（自从） college, I have dreamed about travelling（梦想旅行） to Yunnan. But I never got chance to travel. Last year I made up my mind （我下定决心）and persuaded （说服）my family to go there. At first they did not agree with me, later as I was quite stubborn（相当固执）. Finally, they had to give in（不得不让步）.

Several days before our travel（旅游前几天）, I went to the library（图书馆）. There I found many information about Xishuang Banna.

First, we went to Kunming by plane（乘飞机）. From Kunming we went to Xishuang Banna by train（乘火车）, because it was cheaper（更便宜）in price than plane.

There in Xishuang Banna, I saw many beautiful things. The local people of Xishuang Banna are Dai people（傣族). One day, when we were walking around the city, we saw a river and we went to the river to play. At first we did not know what the river was. Later somebody told us that the river is the Lancang river澜沧江（ ）. （在中国境内叫澜沧江(Lancang Jiang)，流入中南半岛后的河段称为湄公河Mekong。）

PASANG TSERING
The birthplace of the Mekong river is in Zadoo（ ） county of Yushu in Qinghai provice.
湄公河的发源地在青海省玉树州的杂多县境内.
It is the world‘s twelfth longest river and the seventh longest in Asia. Its estimated length is 4,350 km.
它是世界第12长河和亚洲第七长河，估计长度为4350公里。
The river runs through China, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.
这条河流经中国、老挝、泰国、柬埔寨和越南。
