There's a Chinese saying that goes “to get rich, first build a road”， and the newly improved road network in Aba played an important role in winning its poverty alleviation(扶贫) battle. It has also attracted visitors and made tourism successful. Villagers have opened family hotels to earn more money. Because of the rural road network, agricultural products and local products could be shipped out of the villages, and that helped put money into villagers' pockets. The development of online shopping has given villagers greater opportunities to sell their products, and the rural roads have helped them transport their goods. How life changes!

In the past, people read newspapers, listened to the radio and watched TV for information.People used to keep in touch with each other mainly by writing letters or sending postcards.They would buy everything in the shops or markets.Big families had to share small houses which were old and dirty.
