Teaching aims: Learn to describe the weather and what you are doing.

1. Lead in: The song It’s raining. It’s pouring. There’s also much rain in Xiamen these days. And the weather in Xiamen is changing all the time. Can you say out other description words about the weather
2. Show some pictures of different kinds of weather and have Ss match the activities with the pictures (P37 1a).
3. P37 1b.
Mr. Crisp is lucky to win a lottery, so he doesn’t want to be a teacher anymore. He’s travelling around the world for fun. What’s the weather like there Listen and write the city names in the boxes in 1a.
4. Pair Work
Ss have 10 seconds to remember the weather in different cities in 1a. Then they are supposed to shut their books and do a pair work. (The names of the cities are shown on the blackboard).

5. Listening.
The weather is different in different places. And people are doing different things in different weather. Jim is calling his cousin Linda. He’s asking about her family.
(1) Look at the pictures and describe what they are doing.
