Postcard is now popular in many countries. It has a history of more than 150 years. It’s said that the first postcard was made by a painter. One day in October of 1865, a German painter drew a very beautiful picture on a cardboard, and was going to send it to his friend as a wedding souvenir(纪念品). But when he went to the post office , he found the picture was too large to be put in any envelope sold by the post office. The painter was very sad because he really wanted to send it to his friend. A postman advised him to write the address and name of the receiver on the back of the picture. Luckily, the picture without an envelope was sent to his friend like a letter. In this way, the world's first handmade "Postcard" was quietly born.
