would rather do sth. 意为“宁愿做某事 ”，其否定形式是would rather not do sth.
2. I think I’ve made Alice mad and I’m not sure what to do about it.
(1) make sb. mad 意为“使某人发疯/发狂”，相当于drive sb. mad。
(2) be sure 意为“确信；确定”。
3. the more... , the more... 越......越......；愈……愈……
the more…, the more.... 属于“the + 比较级，the + 比较级”结构。前一部分表示条件，后一部分表示结果。

4. have... in common 有......共同之处
常见搭配有：have a lot/much in common有很多共同之处；
have little/nothing in common几乎没有/没有共同之处。
