食肉类恐龙大部份居无定所，以大家都知道的暴龙(霸王龙)而言，它们有时住在山林中的洞穴里、有时住在浓密的丛林中，它们是以突袭的方式猎捕食物。它用那粗大有力的尾巴横扫猎物，将其打昏再冲过去一口咬住，这是大部分大型肉食恐龙的猎食方式。肉食恐龙中的恐爪龙(迅猛龙)体型较小，是群居型的肉食恐龙，不论猎捕食物或迁徙都是群体而行决不单独行动。它们速度极快，猎食时都一起以扑杀的方式群攻，使被盯上的猎物几乎没有逃生的机会，其残暴的猎食方式令人毛骨悚然。

第三类 杂食类恐龙
以似鸟龙、始祖鸟、偷蛋龙较具代表性，它们极少群居，大多是零零散散的分布在各处。只有在迁移或远行时才有例外。它们生活在深谷、密林内的原因是：(一)为了逃避伤害。(二)深谷、密林中有许多树木、各种植物、杂草丛生，昆虫也非常多，食物较易取得。

恐龙灭绝之谜
科学家们是这样为我们描绘6500万年前那壮烈的一幕的。有一天，陨石撞击地球产生了铺天盖地灰尘，极地雪融化，植物毁灭了，火山灰也充满天空。一时间暗无天日，气温骤降，大雨滂沱，山洪暴发，泥石流将恐龙卷走并埋葬起来。在以后的数月乃至数年里，天空依然尘烟翻滚，乌云密布，地球因终年不见阳光而进入低温中，苍茫大地一时间沉寂无声。生物史上的一个时代就这样结束了。

6500万年前，地球气候陡然变化，气温大幅下降，造成大气含氧量下降，令恐龙无法生存。也有人认为，恐龙是冷血动物，身上没有毛或保暖器官，无法适应地球气温的下降，都被冻死了
恐龙年代末期，最初的小型哺乳类动物出现了，这些动物属啮齿类食肉动物，可能以恐龙蛋为食。由于这种小型动物缺乏天敌，越来越多，最终吃光了恐龙蛋
由于地壳变化，“泛古陆”在侏罗纪发生的较大的分裂和漂移现象，最终导致环境和气候的变化，恐龙因此而灭绝。
