学情分析
五年级第二学期的学生经过将近五年英语的学习和积累,已经有一定的语言储备。学习语言的习惯也已经基本养成,具备了一定的阅读和书面写作能力,也掌握了一定的阅读和写作技巧。课堂学习中喜欢对话、表演和竞争。注意力容易被新奇的事物吸引,能看懂简单的英语视频,喜欢欣赏并学唱英语歌谣。在本单元学习之前学生们已经学过families,holidays,activities and places等主题的单词与句型,会用英语正确地表达日期,用英语说一周的七天,一年的十二个月,一般现在时态掌握得比较好,知道主语是第三人称单数时,谓语动词要变成三单。在之前的学习中孩子们对于what,when,why,who,whose和how开头的特殊疑问句进行过大量的训练,因此对于本单元第三课时的句型操练应该不会有陌生感,本单元的主题Chinese festivals即是学生们的美好回忆,又是学生们日常生活中的美好向往,学生们在这方面一有了较丰富的常识积累,具有表达和描述的渴望。
教材分析
本单元是第四模块Things we enjoy的第二单元,主题是Chinese festivals,教材中涉及的知识与学生的生活密切相关,能很好地激发学生的学习兴趣。这一单元的重点介绍了中国最重要的节日——春节相关的知识:它的来历、时间和习俗。以此为核心话题操练一般现在时态和以when,what,how引导的疑问句。教材还介绍了中国其他重要的传统节日,如中秋节、重阳节、元宵节等,在Culture corner里,再一次渗透了能西方最重要的节日--圣诞节。有益于扩展学生的国际视野。
在介绍“年”的来历时,我们要重点复习单数名词当主语时的一般现在时态,学习monster, at the end of, village, last, firecracker, light等单词和词组。在学习The Spring Festival时,我们要重点掌握句型The Spring Festival comes in...和新单词festival,important,call,dumpling,relative,red packets等,在教授新单词时要注意自然拼读的渗透,为学生今后进一步学习英语打好基础。在对话交际中学会用what,when,why,who,whose,where和how等特殊疑问词来提问并获取信息,提高语用能力,在鼓励学生回答这些问题要注意激发学生“热爱生活,热爱祖国传统文化”崇高情感。
三、单元设计思路和依据
根据《义务教育英语课程标准》对语言技能与语言知识,情感态度和学习策略的相关要求,在义务阶段英语课程的终目标是“培养学生的综合语言运用能力,促进心智发展,提高综合人文素养”的指导下,面向全体学生,整体设计目标,“充分考虑语言学习的渐进性和持续性”,“重视语言学习的实践性和应用性”,兼顾学生的听说读写等方面,我们将本单元设计成四个课时的整体单元设计方案:
课时一:the Spring Festival. (中国春节)
课时二:The story of Nian. (《年的传说》)
课时三:More Chinese festivals. (更多的中国传统节日)
课时四:Preparing for Chinese New Year. (准备过春节)
第一课时的文本内容为一篇关于Chinese New Year短文介绍。主要目的是帮助孩子们复习已经学过的句型,了解旧的句型在新语境中的应用,并了解一些中国传统节日的表达和节日文化。
第二课时在第一课时的基础上提出一个问题:为什么春节又叫“过年”?引导孩子们通过阅读一篇关于春节来历的故事—《年的传说》,在这个故事中学生们学习了一些新的词汇,并且复习了用一般现在时讲述故事。
第三课时在前两课时的积累和运用上,要求学生进一步学习中国的传统节日-中秋节和重阳节,通过呈现三个中国传统节日的图片和信息卡,要求孩子们用所给的句型结对问答节日的相关内容。最后学生们按照课本的提示完成写作=介绍自己最喜欢的节日。
第四课时以前三个课时为基础,回顾并巩固整个单元的知识。学生将在Andy写给Eva的邮件这一语境中,了解Andy的春节活动安排,并且通过列清单的方式,帮助Eva完成邮件回信的内容。
本单元的四个话题以中国传统节日为主线,囊括春节的习俗介绍,春节的来历故事,其他传统节日的相关介绍等内容。课时内容安排强调在语境中学习语言,坚持问题导向和任务驱动为主要学习途径。通过不同层次、不同技能的实践、体验、交际,让学生在“做中学,用中学”的过程中学习语言,运用语言。

2、通过Read a story中关于《年的传说》帮助学生了解习俗来源,学习本单元的核心短语、句型,并用一般现在时进行故事复述。
