Step 1 Lead in

T:Last weekend, I worked as a volunteer to clean the street. After it, I felt tired, but happy. What did you do last weekend
Today we are going to learn how to make a polite request and ask for permission.
Step 2 Presentation and Practice
1. New words.
Students read the new words in this lesson by themselves. Then play the recording and ask students to correct their pronunciation.
2. Task1---Guess
First, learn the chores.
Then, show some pictures of chores and ask students to guess what they are.
3. Task2—I can listen. (1b,2a,2b.)
(1) students can talk about some chores through listening.
(2) check the answers.
4. Task3—I can speak
Imitate the conversation between Peter and his father.
Invite some pairs to show their conversations.
Explain some language points.

Step 3 Consolidation
Students read the conversation in 2d.
Ask some students to answer the following questions.

She wants him to take out the rubbish, fold the clothes and the dishes.
(3) Why does the girl want the boy to do these things、
Because her mother will be back soon. She will make her happy.
Students role-play the conversation in pairs.
Step 4 Summary
T: Today we have learned how to ask for permissions and make polite requests. Through some listening and speaking practice, we consolidated the target language and developed our skills.

Then, students listen to a conversation and complete 1c,1d.

Next, students work in pairs to make a conversation about how to prepare for a party.

First, explain what skimming means.
Then, students read the article and try to answer these following questions.

First, students work in pairs to discuss what they think of chores.

T: When we talk about one thing. We may have different ideas. If we want to make other people understand us and agree with us, we can write what we think and how we feel. Now let’s write.
Next, give students about 10 minutes and ask them to read the notes and complete the letter.( Move around the room and give necessary help.)
