Analysis of students Target students are from Grade7, who tend to fancy dogs and other animals, and they have some knowledge about how dogs can be helpful, but they may lack knowledge about how other animals can be helpful. So students may find it easy to cope with the listening part related to helpful dogs, and have difficulties when dealing with the speaking part related to other helpful animals. Hence, I’ll let students retell how three dogs help people as a post-listening activity to build up confidence before the speaking part. I’ll use mind maps at this stage to sort out ideas and students will make use of minds maps to generate ideas during the speaking part.
