Sam wanted to know when we would have the English party.
It all depends on whether it will be fine next week.
I am sure that he will succeed soon.
宾语从句的连词有that,whether/if
I think (that) Tom will return in an hour.
Mary asked whether/if they had been to Beijing.
Nobody knows whether/if he likes this presents.
特殊疑问词 由what, who, whom, whose, which等引导,在句中作主语、宾语、表语,定语等;由when, where, how, why等引导,在宾语从句中做状语,均不能省略。 Do you know who will come tomorrow (作主语)
Do you know what they are talking about (作宾语)
Jim asked whose bike this was.
Do you know when they will visit the Museum (作状语)
Key points:
Robert said (that) he had finished reading the book that he would borrow another one.
(2) 当宾语从句的主语是this,that或者被this和that修饰时,如:
Ann said that this book was very beautiful.
David told us that that was why he was late.
Charlie told me that he would put some signs on the envelop.
(1) 在具有选择意义,又有or或or not时,尤其是直接与or not 连用时,往往用whether(if…or
Let me know whether/if he will come or not.(=Let me know whether or not he will come.)
We’re thinking about whether we can finish the work on time.
Whether this is true or not, I can’t say.
Please let me know if you like the book.
① Please let me know whether you like the book.
② If you like the book, please let me know.
The man told me that he was looking for his son.
The policemen asked the little boy where he lived.
He says (that) he will leave a message on her desk.
Do you know how Amy came to school this morning.
Have you asked the teacher when and where we shall meet tomorrow morning
Our geography teacher said that the earth goes round the sun.
Number the sentences to make a paragraph.
