一、学情分析 The students can talk something about the school with simple sentences.Students can recognize and use adverbs of frequency, such as always, often ,usually, sometimes and never.They seldom use English to express themselves or communicate with others.Some students are not active in class because they are afraid of making mistakes.
二、教材分析 This lesson is taken from Lesson15 of Unit 3 in the seventh grade textbook that is made in Hebei Education Publishing Company.The topic in this unit is "School life". It covers vocabulary, phrases, and concepts associated with school and students’lives. By learning this lesson, students learn to express care and concern.
三、教学目标设计 ·语言知识 a. Understand and use the new words :difference, village, yourself, never, future and so on by different kinds of exercises. Contact the word“education” b. Use the phrases “make a difference”,“give up”,“drop out of school”
·语言技能 By the task-based reading and the mind map, students can grasp the structure of the article and retell the story by themselves.
·学习策略与思维技巧 Students can build up the writing frame step by step and write a story about“Making a difference”.
·情感态度与价值 Students can learn to express the determination of working hard and making a good life.

教师活动 Lead in the class showingsome pictures of our school and some of the classrooms in the poor area.
学生活动 Talk about the feelings of our school and their classrooms.
设计意图 Contrast the learning environment between us and the poor. Let the students know there are also some children learning in the environment like this. In order to lead in the topic of this passage.
教学环节2 教学过程 Preparation for reading
教师活动 Show a picture of a poor boy. Introduce his hometown to lead in the new words“village”.Then by asking“What is he doing ”,lead in the phrase of“drop out of school”.Then show a picture of Su Mingjuan in order to practice the phrase of“drop out of school”and lead in the phrase “give up”。Question : What is she thinking about Will she give up her studies at last Next, show a picture of a hope school to answer the question above and lead in “with a good education I can…….”let the students practice this sentence. At last, through the story of Su Mingjuan , lead the students to practice “make a difference’’.After those ,show the title of this lesson.

设计意图 With pictures and mind map, students can finish writing more easily. Lead them to build the mind map before writing.

九、反思 The designing of this passage is based on the time clue of Hao Tongxin 's school life. The task-based reading can improve the students' reading ability gradually. But the practise of the main phrases is not enough. Because of the less activities of the students, the atmosphere during the class is not active. I should think about this problem over and over again.
