三、阅读理解(30分)

It was one of the honest days of the dry season. There was no rain for about a month.Cows stopped giving milk. On this day I saw a wonder.
I was making lunch when I saw my six-year-old son Billy walking very slowly to the woods. Minutes later, he ran to the house. Soon after that, I saw him walking to the woods again. This went on for an hour. Finally I walked out of the house quietly and followed him.
Billy cupped(窝成杯状) both hands in front of him as he walked, careful not to drop the water he carried. Then I saw an amazing sight. Several large deer stood in front of him. Billy walked right up to them. I saw a tiny baby deer lying on the ground. It was dying of thirst, and it lifted its head to drink the water in my boy's hands.
When the water was gone, Billy ran back to the house. I followed him to the tap. Billy turned it on and let the water slowly fill up his “cup”。 When he stood up and turned, I was there in front of him. His eyes were filled with tears. “I'm not wasting water, Mum,” he said. I joined him with a bottle of water from the kitchen. I let him walk to the baby deer alone while I stood meters away. As tears rolled down my face, they were suddenly joined by other drops. . . and more drops. . . as if the sky itself was crying.

You worry a lot and you're always easily upset. You always stick to your own opinions or judgment, but you don't raise your hopes too much. You usually live for today not tomorrow. This means that you enjoy having a good time.
If you sleep curled up(蜷缩),you are probably a very nervous person. You have a low opinion of yourself and so you're often defensive. You're shy and you don't normally like meeting people. You prefer to be on your own. You're easily hurt.
If you sleep on your side, you have usually got a well-balanced(平衡的)personality. You know your strengths and weaknesses. You're usually careful. You believe in yourself. You sometimes feel anxious, but you don't often get sad. You always say what you think even if it makes people rather angry.

六、书面表达
Are Training Classes Necessary
Nowadays more and more students attend different kinds of training classes or hire tutors to improve their grades at weekends.
Some think it necessary to do so. Firstly, students can make up for what they miss or fail to understand in class on weekdays. Secondly/Besides,they can have more chances and time to communicate with teachers.
However, others don't think so. For one thing, students can easily develop the habit of dependence, causing some students not to listen carefully in class. For another, students need time for rest at weekends.
In my opinion, whether a training class or a tutor is needed just depends. If you are really very weak at or interested in a subject, maybe it's necessary for you. But be sure to choose a suitable class or teacher, otherwise, it would be a waste of time and money.
