内容分析
本课是PEP小学英语三年级起点第二册Unit1第四课时。本课时在Part A 的基础上,继续学习如何询问他人的国籍:Where are you from?此外,可以用This is...介绍新同学。Look and say部分像学生展示了四个国家的国旗和代表性动物,增加了一个新的国家Australia(澳大利亚)。通过四个动物的自我介绍,来使学生一方面了解相关的文化背景知识,另一方面进一步的熟悉、操练本课时的重点句式。

能够熟读let’s talk部分对话,并能进行情景表演。
能够理解并能正确认读课文对话,发音准确,语调自然。
能够在真实的语境中运用本课的句型来询问或回答自己的国籍。
过程与方法
初步了解she的用法。通过小游戏和小组活动,来巩固句型。
正确运用句型“where are you from?”“I’m from...”
学生分小组各自准备好熊猫、老鹰、海狸和袋鼠的手偶或者头饰。
情感态度价值观
通过介绍和认识,能够了解主要英语国家的国旗及代表性动物。

2. 游戏
教学过程
Step 1: Warm-up & Revision
(1)Play a song—A is for apple
(2)Words revision
Teacher put some pictures of famous buildings in some countries which we have learned on PPT and show them one by one to make students guess what countries they are from. Students should speak out the names of these countries.
(3)Dialogue revision
Work in pairs.
Students can wave flags in their hands and introduce them to classmates by using the following sentence patterns which we have learned in Part A.
For example:
I’m Amy. I am from the U.K.
Step 2: Lead-in &Presentation
Lead-in
Show some pictures of characters and let students to answer two questions:
Q1 Who is she/he?
Q2 where is she/he from?
Presentation
Play the video about Let’s talk first. Then let students look and think something about the sentences what they are talking.
Work in groups by using the following sentence patterns in Let’s talk.
S1: S2, this is S3.
S2: Hi,S3.Where are you from
S3: Hi,S2.I’m from .
Students can act the characters what we have known,such as Mike,Sarah,Zhang Peng and so on.
Know some new friends
Teacher can introduce a representative animal —— panda in China to students.
T: We are friends. Today I will show you some news friends. Please watch and listen.
Panda: Hello. My name is Panda. I’m from .
Teacher: Hello,Panda. Where are you from?Boys and girls,where is Panda from?
Panda:I’m from China.
Typical animals and their countries
Show some other typical animals and let students ask which countries they are from.
Teacher:Look at these new friends. Do you want to be their friends?Do you want to know their names?Where are they from?Please ask them.
For example:
Beaver:My name is Beaver. I’m from Canada.
Bold eagle:My name is Bold eagle. You can call me eagle. I’m from the USA.
Kangaroo:My name is Kangaroo. I’m from Australia.
Step 3: Practice
Match flags
Teacher can show pictures of Panda,Beaver,Bold eagle and Kangaroo,and line them up in a row. Then get the flags of China,the USA,Canada and Australia out of order and line them up in another row. Teacher ask and students answers and match them together.
Then teacher says
T:Now I will show the flag. Who got the animal of this country,please introduce yourself . You should say:Hello,I’m from ... Where are you from?
Let’s play
Play a passing game. When the music stop,teacher can take out the pictures of these animals. Choose the “Lucky”students each time to make a conversation in front of the class.
For example:
S1:Hi,I’m from China. Where are you from?
S2:I’m from Australia.
Role play——introduce new friends
Teacher :If some of you get the cards of our new friends,please introduce the new friends to us. You should say like this:Hello,this is Panda. It is from China.
Step 4: Consolidation & Extension
Teacher :We know our new friends come from different countries. What about the new students?Listen carefully and find. You should answer two questions.
Q1: Who is the new student?
Q2: Where is she/he from?
(2)Listen and repeat
Teacher:I will show the dialogue again. Please read it and pay attention to the pronunciation of Australia.
(3)Make a conversation freely
Teacher:Let’s do a pair work. Make a dialogue,please. Then show your dialogue. You should use the two key sentences. We will find the best pair.
For example:
S1:Where are you from?I’m from China.What about you?
S2:I’m from Australia. Nice to see you
S1:Nice to see you,too.
