Number 3 High School is home to two very special young people: Zhang Ping and Zhu Ming. These two students volunteer their time to help other people. This volunteer work takes each of them several hours a week, so it is a major commitment.
Zhang Ping loves to read, and she puts this love to good use by working in the after-school care center at her local elementary school. Here, she helps young children to read. Zhu Ming wants to be a professional singer. He sings for groups of people at the city hospital to cheer them up. “Volunteering is great!” says Zhang Ping, “Not only do I feel good about helping other people, but I get to spend time doing what I love to do.” Zhu Ming says he has met some wonderful people at the hospital. The two students plan to set up a student volunteer project at their school. “Don’t put it off,” says Zhang Ping, “Become a volunteer today!”

【注意】“疑问词+动词不定式”结构常用于tell,know,show,
learn,teach,explain等后作宾语,此时该结构相当于一个宾语从句。它所表示的动作通常是未发生的动作,所以在转换成宾语从句时,通常加情态动词或用将来时态。

2. I get such a strong feeling of satisfaction when I see the animals get
better and the look of joy on their owners’ faces. 当我看到动物们(病

(1) 本句是一个动名词短语作主语的句子。volunteering here是动名词

(2) a dream come true 意为“梦想成为现实;梦想成真”,是一种常见的表达方式。come true 意为“实现;成为现实”,其主语常为梦想、愿望或目标等。

(1) 句中what I love to do作第一个do的宾语,为宾语从句。当宾
