When it comes to an attractive topic, I think Chinese calligraphy is well worth recommendation. Chinese calligraphy, a form of art with a long history, stands for the civilization of ancient China. For us Chinese, calligraphy serves the purpose of conveying thoughts and showing the beauty of the characters. Possible Version 1: (189 words)
Then she spotted Neil in the audience! Noticing the familiar figure standing there, Melanie felt a strong sense of astonishment and encouragement. His image of keeping on doing his rehabilitation crowded into her minds, which made her terror fade away gradually. Her dance movement, flowing along the rhythm of the music, became more and more expressive. Her lines, jumps, and twirls drew loud applause from the audience. Her performance finally was thought highly of by the judges, which was out of her expectation. One judge even added that her performance left a deeper impression than before and wondered what she had experienced over the last year.
Receiving the praise from the judge, Melanie smiled and cried as she recalled her journey over the last year. Having been informed that she had to give up dancing, she was on the verge of breakdown. It was her friend Neil who encouraged her to go through the hardest time and taught her how to stick to her dream. “Thanks for your coming, Neil!” On the stage Melanie cupped her hands around her mouth, shouting to the direction of Neil. At that moment, a bright smile spread across Nail’s face. It dawned on Melanie that she might not be an excellent dancer, but she was truly a dance lover.
Possible Version 2: (185 words)
Then she spotted Neil in the audience! Catching sight of him smiling in his wheelchair, Melanie was pleasantly surprised to discover that she was no longer afraid. A sense of determination surged through her. She jumped. She leaped. Immersed herself in the music, she danced like a flying butterfly, never thinking whether she would be the best. She amazed the audience and applause rang through the hall. At the end, one of the judges said, "This past year was difficult for you, but it has made you a more humble person, and that will make you a better dancer.”
Receiving the praise from the judge, Melanie smiled and cried as she recalled her journey over the last year. It was really hard for her and self-doubt once gnawed away at her confidence in dancing. Fortunately, she met Neil. She was so grateful for meeting him. It was him that gave her encouragement and made her realize what she still owned. She was amazed to think how that broken bone in her foot could make such a huge difference in her life. If not for that accident, she would never have understood that the best was not about being a perfect dancer, but about sticking to the dream and never giving up.
