I. Analysis of the Materials
A conversation between a junior high school student and her teacher. This conversation, serves as a complementary listening material of Unit 8, the textbook (Oxford English of Shenzhen, published by Shanghai Education Press), is about making apologies, giving excuses and responding to apologies in a polite way.
A conversation between a junior high school student and her mother. This conversation, which is about the differences between the education in the past and present in terms of ways to have classes, learning tools and learning resources, is used to lead to the topic of discussion – the education in the future.

What they already know: Having 7-year experiences of learning English, students have basic listening and speaking abilities. Ss have learnt about the reading passage “Life in 2050” and have talked about different aspects of life in the future.
