There is a small but growing movement in America of households that want to reduce waste to zero. Their g_____1_____of producing no trash is probably impossible to reach. But some are close.
Zero Wasters, as they are called, help each other by sharing advice on blogs and social media. Some of the advice i _____2 _____where to buy things to avoid unwanted packaging (包装)and where to recycle things that most people throw away.
Bea Johnson is one of them. She said, "It may be too extreme for a lot of people, but if you can cut your trash down by even 20 percent, you'll gain 80 percent of the benefits (好处), 1_____3 _____saving time and money for experiences instead of shopping for unnecessary things...."She added, "It's about a simpler life."
Johnson said that reducing shopping means her family has m_____4_____ money for vacations. She said her family buys recycled things also. McDonald's is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its world famous Big Mac.
