教材分析:
本节课是人教版高中英语必修二第二单元的第二课时,课型是阅读课,主要内容是有关奥林匹克运动会方面的知识。通过本课的教学,使学生了解到有关奥林匹克运动会方面的一些常识,从而培养学生对体育的热爱及爱国热情。同时,重在培养学生的阅读技能,在教学中有意适当渗透英语的阅读技巧。
教学目标:
●知识与技能
1.全面培养学生听、说、读、写英语的四种基本技能,并侧重培养学生的的阅读能力和知识运用能力,以促进学生的智力开发和思维发展。
2.掌握课文大意,并能根据关键词句,通过小组合作完成探究及讨论题。
3.通过本课的教学,使学生了解奥林匹克运动会方面的知识,激发学生对体育运动的热情,激励他们刻苦学习,增强他们的学习兴趣,培养他们的爱国热情。
●情感态度与价值观目标
通过对本文的学习,学生不仅了解奥运常识,学习英语基础知识,而且从中培养了良好的思想情感,增强了爱国热情,启迪他们用积极的态度正确认识世界,树立正确的人生观和价值观。
教学重点
●指导学生了解课文的大意,了解奥运常识。
●掌握阅读文章的技巧。
教学难点
指导学生从课文中获得信息,理解细节,并能掌握知识点。
教学过程
Step Ⅰ Lead-in
The teacher shows some flashes.——2016年巴西奥运会的会歌及奥运图片
T: Who wants to say something about the Olympic Games Volunteers
S1: They are held every four years.
S2: There are two kinds of the Olympic Games.
S3: The first ancient Olympic Games was held in 776 BC in Greece.
S4: The official mascots for the Beijing Olympics are Fuwas

[设计意图]
在消除学生上课时的紧张感的同时,引出本课课题——奥林区克运动会,以此创设情景,让学生在“体验”中产生探究兴趣。
Step Ⅱ Presentation
Ask the students to say some basic information about the Olympic Games after showing the five-ring flag, the Olympic torch ,the Olympic slogan and medals of some kinds of sports games.(使学生对奥运知识有更多的了解,可以让学生融入课堂氛围,进入角色,带动学生学习的热情。)
T: What does the five-ring flag stand for
S4: It stands for five continents.
T: Which continent does the blue ring stand for How about the red ring … etc.
Say the names of the sports games according to the pictures.
[设计意图]
用图片展示可以吸引学生注意力,激发学生对即将学习的课文的兴趣。学生学有兴趣也就乐于学,老师应鼓励和实现学生的表现欲望,对于善于用脑思考和积极主动回答的学生给予表扬,使学生以积极热情的学习态度来面对将要阅读的材料,启发他们阅读的动机。
Step Ⅲ reading
[设计意图]
语篇教学是英语教学内容的主要部分,如何把握阅读思路、掌握阅读技巧是英语学习中的一大难题。在教学中,我始终坚持阅读三步走,从整体上把握文章的脉络,帮助学生掌握文章大意,以求对文章的深层次理解。
1. Skimming
Ask the students to sum up the main idea of the text by showing the multiple choices.(适合初等基础程度的学生)
What’s the main idea of the text
A. The introduction to the 1st Olympic Game.
B. The history of the Asian Games.
C. The history of the Olympic Games.
2. Scanning
1、Who was Pausanias and when did he live
2、Where do all the athletes live
3、Do you know any differences between the ancient and modern Olympic Games List two of them
Ask the Ss to read the text quickly to find out the topic sentence.(从整体上把握文章脉络,在理解课文大意的基础上,通过多媒体解决较浅显的表层理解问题,引导学生思考并进行讨论。) (适合中等程度的学生)

通过讨论活跃气氛,激活学生的思维,掌握扫读的技巧。
3. Intensive reading
Ask the Ss to read the text again, then ask and answer some questions in details all by themselves.(让学生小组合作,采用互问互答式学习,使学生对课文进行深层次理解。)

采用让学生当老师来提问的形式,可以培养学生主动发现问题、分析问题、解决问题的能力。教师给以必要的指导,教给学生探究的方法,养成“用脑思考”的习惯,激发了学生求知的欲望。
Step Ⅳ Post-Reading
According to the text, judge whether the following statements are True or False.

Step Ⅴ Retell the text
Give some key words and sentences to ask the Ss to fill in the form in a time table to consolidate the text by showing some slides.

●Guess what their achievements are in the competition according to their pictures.
通过所展示的运动员图片(姚明、刘翔、张怡宁等),让学生猜出他们的奥运成绩,回忆2008年,2012年2016年及2020年在第28—31届奥运会上中国取得的成绩。
●What’s the meaning of this signs
让学生说出北京2008年申奥标志及奥运吉祥物——五个福娃的含义,学生给出了各种答案。此题可以充分发挥学生的想象力,培养学生的发散思维能力。
●What are the good effects and the bad effects of bidding the Olympic Games
