1. W: How was your trip last weekend, Mark
M: Wow, I’ve never seen so many sea animals!
2. W: Have you read the news that three wolves escaped
from the zoo yesterday
M: Really Show me the papers.
3. W: My son is dreaming about going to the Disneyland
Park in Tokyo, but my holiday is not long enough.
M: Don’t you know that the fifth Disney opened in Hong
Kong on September 12 It’s just at the door.
4. W: How do you like the characters in that movie
M: Oh, I love the seven little men. They are so
different from each other even though they are the
same height.
5. W: You look very excited, Jack.
M: Yes. To be on top of that mountain is my dream.
Tomorrow my dream will come true.
II.
1. W: Shall we go skating again this week, Rick
M: No, I’m sick of it. I want to go fishing for a change.
2. W: You look so tired, James.
M: So I am. At the beginning of this month I was in
Guangzhou. Now I’ve just come back from Dalian.
Next month I’m flying to Paris. I don’t know when will be
the end.
3. W: Do you know when Mickey Mouse was born
M: I’ve heard that Walt Disney first put the little mouse in

4. W: Have you ever argued with your parents, Ted
M: Yes. We often argue about how to spend our spare
time.
5. W: You work very hard at English, Orson.
M: I have to. I need it to find a good job, you know. And I
hope to go abroad if I can.
Dialogue 1
M: What’s the best birthday present you’ve ever received
W: In fact, I’ve loved everything except toys. I’m not a baby
any more.
M: What would be the best gift for your coming birthday
W: Well, a long holiday would be great. But I’m afraid I’ll have
to spend it in my office.
M: Poor Emma! Well, how much do you usually spend when
you choose gifts for other people
W: I don’t mind. The important thing is that the person is happy
with it.
Dialogue 2
W: Hi, John. How is everything going
M: Everything’s fine, except that my English is still not good
enough for the life here. I feel like a deaf, you know, when
two Americans are talking fast. I think your English has
improved a lot, Judy. How did you do that
W: It’s no secret at all. I’m now living with an American family,
so I’ve got pretty much time for practice.
M: Does it cost much to live in such a host family
W: Not at all. I help around the house every day and I teach
Tony, the little boy in the family, a little bit Chinese. So I just
need to pay a little for my stay. Why don’t you have a try
It really helps.
M: I’ll think about it.
It all began in 1921 when young Christopher Robin Milne received a teddy bear named Edward as a gift for his first birthday. Over the next few years, he added other toys to his collection, including a donkey, a kangaroo or two, a pig and a tiger. When Christopher was four, he went to the London zoo and started his friendship with a Canadian black bear named Winnie. Their friendship made the boy’s father – the famous writer A.A. Milne begin to invent a wonderful series of stories and books. An artist called E.H. Shepard drew beautiful pictures for his books. Many of the stories came from little Christopher’s real life. The books of Winnie-the-Pooh have become so popular around the world that people of all ages like to read them. The stories are simple, but we are just simply moved.
W: Where would you like to go, Jack
M: I want to go to a place I’ve never been to.
W: Have you been to the beach M: No, never. But Sarah has. She’s shown us some photos
before.
W: OK. How about the water park
M: I’ve been there. It was not as good as I had thought. Shall
we go to the Space Museum I’m interested in it.
W: Sandy and Tom went there last month. Maybe it’s not the
best choice for them.
M: Are there any other places you’ve thought of
W: The Safari Park and the aquarium.
M: Have you forgotten that we all went to the aquarium last
summer
W: Oh, yes. Then we have only one choice left.
(M:) Let’s see now, when you are in the zoo, there are few things you should keep in mind. First of all, you should always stay with your group members and don’t go alone. Make sure you remember our meeting time: 12 o’clock outside the gate. When you are near the animals, don’t give them any food. It is not allowed in the zoo. Remember not to go too near to the animals. Some of them can be quite dangerous. Take good care of your own things, especially the expensive things like camera or your money. Do not play with water on your way. There will be some minibuses traveling around the zoo, so you must be careful when you’re crossing the road. All right then. Have fun, everyone.

M: What are you doing there, Angela
W: I’m picking for the trip tomorrow, Dad.
M: Where are you going
W: The Safari Park, the one which opened not long ago.
M: Mm, sounds nice. What are you taking with you Have you put your camera in
W: Of course. And my sunglasses my hat…..
M: The weather report says it’s going to be cloudy tomorrow, so you’d better take an umbrella with you.
W: You’re right. Anything else
M: Don’t forget to ask for a map at the gate of the park before you enter it. It can be very helpful.
W: I see, the map. Shall I take a warm coat
M: I don’t think so. The temperature will be just fine. Do you have to take your lunch
W: No. Mr Lin said we would have lunch together at the restaurant outside the park.
M: That’ll be fine. Then take some water in case you are thirsty. Have a good time!
W: Thanks, Dad. Good night.

(M:) Let’s see now, when you are in the zoo, there are few things you should keep in mind. First of all, you should always stay with your group members and don’t go alone. VIII.
W: Excuse me, sir.
M: Yes
W: We’ve lost our way. We wanted to see the ostriches, but now we’ve come to Monkey Hill. How can we find the way to see the ostriches
M: Oh, you are quite far away from the ostriches now. Do you have a map
W: Yes, but it’s too difficult for us to read the map.
M: Well, let me see…… Now you’re here, Monkey Hill. Walk along this road, then turn right at the first crossing. You’ll see the Elephant House on your right. Go straight on for about 50 meters and you’ll find the House for White Tigers at the corner. Next to it is Lions’ Home. Turn left and go along the road. On your right, there is a big lake called Swan Lake where you can see wild ducks and swans playing on the sand. Walk along the lake until you come to Panda World on the right side of the road. The Ostrich Farm is just opposite Panda World, on the left side of the road. Is that clear to you now
W: Yes, I’m sure we won’t miss it now. Thanks a lot!
M: You’re welcome. Enjoy yourself.
