Unit 2 Vienna is the centre of European classical music.

三、教学过程
Step1 Warming-up and Lead in
To give the students some pictures and videos about Strauss Waltz . Let them watch and then talk about Western music.
Step 2 Work in pairs.
Look at the pictures of Activity 1 and describe it. Use the words from the box to help the students.
Step3 Reading
1. Scanning
Ask the students to scan the passage and answer the questions as quickly as they can.
How many composers are mentioned in the passage Who are they
2. Listening
Ask the students to listen to the tape and do the exercises of Activity 2.
1) Many musicians came to study and work in Vienna.
2) Strauss the younger played the piano, the violin and the drums at the age of six.
3) Mozart’s family took him around Europe.

1. It goes through Vienna.
through 意为“穿过,经过”,常与pass, go, walk 等动词连用。
eg. We walked rapidly through the back door. 我们快速走过后门。
across, through, over 三者都有“通过,穿过”之意。区别是:
1) across 表示从一定范围的一边到另一边,与on 有关,表示动作是在某一物体的表面进行的。
They walk across the road. 他们穿过公路。
2) through 表示从中间通过,强调动作是在里面进行的。
We walk through the forest. 我们穿过森林。
3) over 多指空间范围上通过,越过或垂直在上,和表面不接触等。
The birds fly over the city. 鸟儿飞过城市。

Noisy意为“吵闹的”

反意疑问句
1. 含义

Step 8 Study Grammar
1. 感叹句
当我们想表达一种较为强烈的感情,如喜悦、赞叹、惊异、愤怒、厌恶等时,可以用感叹句。这种句式常用what作为句子的开头。其基本结构为“What + 强调或感叹的部分(+句子的主语和谓语动词)”。句子的主谓部分常常可以省略。
What a beautiful city! 多漂亮的城市啊!
What nice weather!多好的天气啊!
What a horrible thing to do! 这事多让人害怕啊!
What a beautiful flower (it is)! 多么美的花啊!
What nice people (they are)! 他们是多么好的人啊!

思考:什么时候用What a … 什么时候用What…
当what后面修饰的名词是可数名词单数时, what后面用不定冠词a/an; 当what后面修饰的名词是不可数名词或可数名词复数时,what后面没有冠词。
2.选择疑问句
选择疑问句中or所连接的可以是不同的内容,如两个名词(the father or the son)、两个动词 (call or email)、两个介词短语 (by bus or by car)、专有名词 (Mozart or Strauss)等。
注意:or所连接的内容一定是并列的,如果or的前面是名词,其后也应该是名词;如果是动词,则其后也必须是动词,不能前面是名词,后面却接一个动词。
