Unit 3 Language in use
一、教学目标:
【语言知识目标】
1) 正确运用本模块的词汇:size,take, try, may, try on, certainly, wait a minute,
sale, price, safe, one of, later...
2) 能运用所学的购物用语询问价格,颜色和尺寸等在同学之间进行真实的交际。
【情感态度目标】
培养学生购物的正确认识,了解中外文化差异。

能够根据自己所学,为学校的野餐活动写一份购物清单。
三、教学过程
Step 1 Lead in
Give instruction s of the competition: The whole class are divided into 4 groups, each group go to the blackboard and write out what they can buy in a supermarket. Let’s find out which group can write out the most goods in 90seconds.
Step 2 Language practice
1. Read through the example sentences in the box with the whole class.
2. Ask the students to repeat the sentences in the box.
Step 3 Work in pairs
1. Have the students make dialogues of shopping and use the sentence like these:
A: Can I help you
B: Yes, I’d…
A: What colour do you like / How much / many would you like /
B: I like…
A: What size do you take
…
2. Finish the exercises of Activity 1 and 2.
3. Ask the students to sum up the usage of these two phrases:
How many… How much…
To sum up the usage of these two phrases, the n finish Activity3 and Activity 4.
4. To introduce different ways of shopping in the world today.
Step 4 Module task: Writing a shopping list for a school picnic.
1. Work in pairs. Write a shopping list for a school picnic.

Step 5 Grammar——特殊疑问句:
一、定义:以疑问词开头,对句中某一成分提问的句子叫特殊疑问句。
二、常用的疑问词有:what(什么), who(谁), whose(谁的), which(哪个), when(何时), where(哪里), how(怎样), why(为何)等。
三、特殊疑问句的语序:
1.疑问词(+主语)+谓语动词+其他成分?

2.疑问词+一般疑问句语序?
How much are these sausages
What size does his mother take
How much meat do you want
What color would you like
What time does he get up every morning﹖
When are you going to have a picnic

四、注意事项:
1.回答特殊疑问句时,不能用yes / no,即问什么答什么,尤其是简略回答。括号内是完整回答所需部分。

—He likes white.
2) —What size do you like
—Small.
3)—How much beef would you like
—Half a kilo.
4) — How much are they
—Thirty-eight yuan a kilo.
5) —Why do they like shopping on the Internet
—Because they can buy almost everything on the Internet, and it’s very easy.
2.特殊疑问句一般读降调(↓)。

Step 6 Language Points
how many与how much的用法:
1. how many接可数名词的复数,表示“多少”。
How many books are there on the desk 桌子上有多少本书?
How many days are there in a week 一周有几天?
2 how much的用法
1)用来询问事物的数量,后接不可数名词。
How much milk is there in the glass 杯子里有多少牛奶?
2)用来询问事物的重量。
—How much does the pig weigh 这头猪体重多少?
—Eighty kilos.八十公斤。
3)how much 意为“多少钱”时,可单独使用,也可构成词组how much money,但英语中常省略money,用来询问某物的价钱、价格。
(注意:how much询问价格时,它的回答若是中国的货币单位应采用汉语拼音yuan来表示,字母用小写,且不用复数。)
—How much is the eraser 这块橡皮多少钱?
—Two yuan. 两元。

书面表达:

Step 7 Language Points
1. anything
anything 作代词,其常见用法有:
(1)用于肯定句中,意为“任何事物、任何事情”,作all或everything解。
e.g. You can buy anything you like. 你可以买你喜欢的任何事物。
(2)用于疑问句或条件句中,意为“什么事情、什么事物”。
e.g. Is there anything in that box 盒子里有什么东西吗?
(3)用于否定句,意为“任何事物、任何事情”。
e.g. I don’t know anything about it. 我不知道任何事情。
【拓展】
everything作代词,意为“每样事物、每件事、所有事物”。not … anything 表示全部否定,not…everything表示部分否定。

2. receive
receive作动词,意为“收到、接到(信件、礼物、电话等)”,后面可直接跟名词。常用句型:receive sth. (from sb.)

safe 作形容词,意为“安全的”,常用作定语、表语,其反义词是dangerous,意为“危险的”。

try on意为 “试穿(衣、鞋、帽等)’’, 它是由“动词+副词”构成的短语,其后接名词作宾语,将其置于副词on之后或之前均可,但如果宾语是人称代词,则只能将人称代词宾格置于on之前。

= You can try this skirt on before you buy it.
