Water on the Earth
Water covers 70 per cent (百分之……) of Earth’s surface (表面). There is a lot of water on Earth, but 97 per cent is from the sea. We can’t drink it because it’s too salty. About 2 per cent of water is in icecaps (冰盖) and icebergs (冰山). People can only use 1 per cent of the world’s water.
Water in human body
Like all living tissues, our body contains water in various amounts:
- 75% for a baby
- 70% for one child
- 60% for an adult
