2. I want to call you but my phone isn’t working, so I’m writing to you.
（1）这里的 work 用来表示仪器、设备的“运行、工作”若是用于否定结构如 isn’t work，则表示某一件物品“不工作了”或“坏掉了”。如:
The bike isn’t working now.
（2）write to 表示“写信给某人”。如：
My friend , Tom, often writes to me.
3. It’s hot in your country now, isn’t it
这种在陈述句后面加一个简短的问句，用来对陈述部分内容进行确认的句子，称为反意疑问句。

1) be surprised 后可接: 句子、 at sth、
to do sth 都表示“对……感到惊奇”。如：

To my surprise, he is coming.
2) in this heat “在这种热度下”, 注意用介词“in”。

be relaxed “放松; 轻松”, 常用人作主语。如：

8. scarf “围巾”, 复数为: scarfs 或 scarves.
9. But everyone is having a good time.
1) everyone 每人, 人人。作主语时, 谓语
动词用单数形式。如：
Everyone is here.
Everyone has his own name.
2) have a good time 玩得高兴; 过得愉快。
= have fun
= enjoy + 反身代词。 如：
We are having a good time in the park.
= We are having fun in the park.
= We are enjoying ourselves in the park.
have a good + 其他名词, 表示“……愉快、高兴”。
如: have a good trip

10. I’m sitting by the pool …
1). sit 动词，意为“坐”，是不及物动词。如 表达“坐在某地”就用介词短语来表达地点。如：
Please sit on the chair and have some tea.
2). by 意为“在……旁边”，它所表示的位置比 near 更近一些。例如：
All the children are sitting by the table.
