话说数词
数词是表示“多少”和“第几”的词数词有两种：基数词和序数词。基数词是表
示“多少”的数词，序数词是表示“第几”的数词。
数词与不定代词相似，其用法或者相当于形容词，或者相当于名词。

在英语基数词中最基本的是下面这些，所有其他数词都可以由这些词构成：

2其他基数词的构成
①“二十”以上“几十几”的表示方法
在英文表示“几十”的单词后加上“-（连字符）”再加上表示“几”的单词。如：

②“几百几”或“几百几十几”的表示方法
先说“几”，后加hundred(注意hundred要用单数形式)，在hundred之后加
and,再加“几”，“几十”或“几十几”。如：

③“几千几百几十几”的表示方法
先说“几”，后加thousand(注意thousand要用单数形式)，在thousand之后
连续写出表示百位的数字。如：
3876 three thousand eight hundred and seventy-six
7898 seven thousand eight hundred and ninety-eight
英语在使用阿拉伯数字时，千位以上的数字一般自右向左每三位加'写一个逗
号，如：2,008；768,921等（年份除外），但有时1,000至9,000之间的数字也常
不用逗号。
④“万”以上的数字的表示方法
英语无专门表示“万”“十万”“千万”等的单词。万以上的数字是靠逗号“，”标
志所分出的一组组百位数字读写的（即读百位数字之后，再读逗号所代表的位数
字)。自右向左，第一个逗号读作thousand(千)，第二个逗号读作million(百万，第
三个逗号读作thousand million[英或billion[美]等。如：
3,506,426,916,874 three thousand,five hundred and six billion,
four hundred and twenty-six million,nine hundred and sixteen thousand,
eight hundred and seventy-four
60,000,000,000读作sixty thousand million[英]或sixty billion[美]
2,000,000,000,000读作two billion[英]或two trillion[美]

在一般较为随便和非正式的场合下，只写出“十”以下英文数字。在较为正式的场合下，“百'
以下的英文数字都要用单词的形式写出来。“百"以上的大数字通常是阿拉伯数字形式写出来。
⑤表示含糊数目的短语
数词在表示含糊数目的短语中用复数形式。如：
hundreds of.…数以百计的…
thousands of.数以千计的…
millions of..数以百万计的…
at sixes and sevens乱七八糟
by twos and threes三三两两
a woman in her forties一个四十多岁的妇女
3基数词的用法
①作定语。如：
There are only five girls in the class.班上只有5名女生.
Four doctors are at a medical conference.4位医生出席一次医学会议。
②作主语。如：
It is said that thirteen is an unlucky number.据说13是个不吉利的数字。
Four times six is twenty-four.4乘6得24。
