Fact about camels:
Camel's hump is not filled with water. It consists of (包含)fat. The stored fat can provide(提供)enery for the camel when food and water are very limited(有限的).
It's very soft. It comes in many colours. We can make clothes from it.

Fact about silk:
In ancient China, only memembers of upper classes(上流社会)were allowed to wear lots of different colours and clothing made of silk.

Danny: For my project, I will describe some places and things
from China. You guess their names. Just try your best. Are
you ready Let’s begin!
These things are very old. People built them a long time ago.
They look like an ancient army. What are they?
Jim: Are they the clay soldiers and horses from China?
Danny: Yes, you are right. They are the Terra Cotta Warriors in
Xi’an. Here are some pictures.
Jim: Wow! Cool pictures, Danny.
Danny: The next one is an animal. It’s big and tall. It’s an important
tool on the Silk Road.
Greg: Is it a horse?
Danny: Sorry! It lives in the desert.
Greg: Oh, it’s a camel!
Danny: Well done. Look at this picture. I’m riding a camel.
Danny: Here is the last one. It is very soft. It comes in many colours.
Kim: Many things are soft and colourful. Can you tell us a little bit
more, please?
Danny: OK. We can make clothes from it.
Lily: Is it silk?
Danny: Yes, you guessed it, Lily! Look at me. I’m wearing a silk
shirt.

4. Play Act and Guess. One student tries to describe something
and the others try to guess what it is. Take turns guessing and
describing.

Language Points
describe v. 描述; 描写, 其名词为description描写
describe ... as ... 把......描述成......, 把......说成......

describe的常用短语:

2. Just try your best. (教材P22)
try one’s best 尽某人最大的努力, 等于do one’s best, 后跟to do形式。one’s要随主语的变化而改变。
【例句】
I try my best to learn English.
= I do my best to learn English.
我尽我最大的努力学习英语。
3. People built them a long time ago. (教材P22)
built是动词build的过去式, 意思是“修建”, 其现在分词为building; 名词形式是building建筑物。
【例句】
They want to build a school here.
他们想要在这里建造一所学校。
ago adv. 以前
辨析: ago 与before
时间段 + ago 表示“一段时间以前”, 常用于一般过去时。
before + 时间点 表示“在某具体的时间之前”, 可用于一般现在时/一般过去时/一般将来时等时态。
【例句】
I bought a bike two days ago.
我两天前买了一辆自行车。
He often gets to school before 7 o’clock.
他经常在七点之前到校。
4. They look like an ancient army. (教材P22)
look like的意思是 “看起来像”, 通常表示人或物的外貌特征看起来像。它是由感官动词look与介词like搭配的词组。
【例句】
The boy looks like his father.
这个男孩看起来像他的爸爸。

be like
be like通常用来描述性格, 更侧重人的个性特征, 有时也用来描述外貌。

important adj. 意思是“重要的”, 其常用短语有: be important to, 意思是“对......重要”。
【例句】
There is a piece of important news for you.
有一条重要的消息要给你。
important的名词形式为importance , 意思是“重要性”, 常用的短语有: the importance of ..., 意思是“......的重要性”。

a little bit 一点儿
a little bit 后可直接跟形容词, 若跟不可数名词则须加of。
【例句】
After a long walk, she was a little bit tired.
走了很长一段路之后, 她有点儿累了。
We have a little bit of time.
我们有一点儿时间。
more adj. & pron.(many/much的比较级)更多, 较多
部分双音节及多音节的形容词、副词前面加more构成比较级, 表达“更......”的意思, 如: more often, more famous, more quickly, more beautiful。
【例句】
I have more books than you. 我的书比你的多。
Let’s work together to make our country more beautiful.
让我们一起努力让我们的国家变得更美。
7. We can make clothes from it. (教材P22)
make ... from ... 表示“用......制作......”, 一般从制成品中看不出原材料。
【例句】
People make wine from grain.
人们用谷物酿酒。

be made from ..., 意思是“由......制成”。

Paper is mainly made from wood.
纸主要是由木头做成的。
8. I’m wearing a silk shirt. (教材P22)
wear v. 穿着, 戴着
辨析: wear 与put on
wear 动词, 意思是“穿着, 戴着”, 强调的是穿着的状态, 其宾语可以是衣物、眼镜、手表、奖章等。
put on 动词短语, 意为“穿上”, 强调的是穿的动作, 其宾语可以是衣物、鞋子、帽子等。
【例句】
She is wearing a beautiful watch today.
