I just got back from a great trip to the Silk Road. My friends from Canada went with me. On our trip, I realized many things about China.

Our country has a very long history and a rich culture.
I saw and experienced a lot on the trip. We went to see the Terra Cotta Warriors and the ancient city of Xi’an. The history of China is so alive in these places. I learned so much!
This trip opened my eyes. I saw my own history and culture in a new way. I hope to travel more around my country someday.

I went to Wuhan with my family last summer. I saw the East lake, the Yellow Crane Tower and the Changjiang River. I ate lots local foods and my favourite one was the Hot and Dry Noodles.

alive 活着的; 有活力的
辨析:alive, live, living与lively
alive 活着的; 有活力的 作表语或后置定语,修饰人或动物, 但不能修饰植物 No man alive is greater than he. 活着的人没有比他更伟大的了。
live 活的; 实况转播的 通常修饰物, 位于名词前作定语 The cat is playing with a live mouse. 这只猫在戏弄一只活老鼠。
living 活着的 强调“尚在人间的; 健在的”, 通常作定语, 修饰人或物 He is regarded as one of the best living writers at present. 他被认为是目前健在的最好的作家之一。
lively 活泼的;生动的 可作定语、表语或宾语补足语, 可修饰人或物 My sister is a lively girl. 我妹妹是个活泼的女孩。

own adj. & pron. 自己的
on one’s own的意思是 “单独地; 独自”, 在句中作状语, 相当于by oneself。
【例句】
He is living on his own now.
他现在独自生活。
own还可作及物动词, 表示“拥有”。

This house is mine. I own it.
这房子是我的。我拥有它。
5. Where should I go next (教材P28)
should情态动词, 意为“应该”, 情态动词不能单独在句子中作谓语, 必须接动词原形一起构成谓语部分。should的否定式为:
should not, 可缩写为shouldn’t。should没有人称和数的变化, 即用在所有人称后面都用原形, 当含有should的陈述句变为疑问句时, 要将should放在主语的前面。
【例句】
You should follow his suggestion. 你应该接受他的建议。

辨析: suggestion与advice
suggestion 指“提议; 建议”, 为可数名词, 动词形式为suggest。 My teacher gave me some suggestions on how to learn English. 我的老师给了我一些怎样学英语的建议。
advice 指“意见;忠告;劝告”, 为不可数名词, 表示“一条建议”要用 “a piece of advice”, 动词形式为advise。 Follow your doctor’s advice.
要遵从医嘱。
