join sth.指加入某个团体、党派或组织, 并成为其中一员

辨析: join, take part in与join sb.in (doing) sth.
join 指加入某个组织、党派或社会团体(如: join the Party入党, join the army参军等), 从而成为该组织、党派或团体的一员; 也可指加入某个人群(如join us)。
take part in 指参加某项群众性、集体性的事业、工作或活动, 有时可以和join in互换。
join sb. in (doing) sth. 加入到某人当中一起做某事

at the same time 同时
at the same time指两个动作同时发生, 强调动作的短暂性。
【例句】
They arrived here at the same time.
他们同时抵达这里。
5. Acting is fun and useful. (教材P52)
动名词(短语)在句中作主语, 表示经常性或习惯性的动作, 谓语动词用第三人称单数形式。
【例句】
Reading in the sun is bad for your eyes.
在阳光下看书对你的眼睛不好。
useful adj. 有用的;有益的
useful是由use加后缀-ful派生而来的, 反义词为useless“无用的”。
useful的第一个字母为元音字母u, 但其发音为/ju /, 即第一个音素为辅音音素, 因此前面的不定冠词用a。
【例句】
That is a useful dictionary.
那是一本有用的词典。
6. We do lots of role play games in our classes. (教材P52)
role n. 职能; 角色
常用短语有: play a role of扮演......的角色, play a role in在......中起作用。
【例句】
Schools play an important role in society.
学校在社会中起着重要的作用。
7. You can stay in shape and have a good time. (教材P52)
stay in shape 保持体型, 其中shape是名词, 在这个短语中的意思是“样子; 外表”。
【例句】
She’s bought an exercise bike to stay in shape.
她买了一辆运动自行车以保持体形。
与shape相关的其他短语：

keep in shape 保持体型
out of shape 变形的; 身体不好
