Enable Ss to listen, speak and read the words: different, star, look up, Internet.
Enable Ss to listen, speak and read the sentences: There was no library in my school. Tell us about your school, please. How do you know that There were no computers or Internet in my time.
Enable Ss to listen, understand and finish “Let’s try”.
Enable pupils to listen, speak, understand and act “Let’s talk”.
Ⅲ Teaching important and difficult points:
Important points:
(1)To use the sentences in real context: There was no library in my school. Tell us about your school, please. How do you know that There were no computers or Internet in my time.
(2) To listen, speak and read the words: different, star, look up, Internet.
Difficult point:
To read and act “Let’s talk”.
To listen, understand and finish “Let’s try”.
Ⅳ Preparation:
Tape, class to class equipment and so on.
Ⅴ Teaching steps:
Step 1 Warming up:
Listen to the song: Changes in me.
Step 2 Leading in:
Write down the topic: Unit Four Then and now
Step 3 Presentation:
A Let’s try:
First time: Listen and tick or cross.
Second time: Pause and listen.
Third time: Listen and check the answer together. Point Ss to repeat the sentence one by one.
A Let’s talk:
Revision: T shows the pictures of words, Ss read them in groups. Words/phrases: art room, computer room, dining hall, library, gym.
(2)First time:
Listen and answer the question: What was Grandpa’s school like T points Ss to answer the question.
(3)PPT shows the answers of the question. T asks the Q, Ss answer it together.
(4)PPT shows the main sentences one by one. Ss read it after T. And to know some common knowledge.
(5)Second time: Ss read the talk after the tape. Pay attention to the pronunciation.
(6)Third time: Listen and read after me. Show the red pen and draw the main sentences in the talk.
Step 4 Practice:
Role play: Give Ss 2 mins to do the talk with the partners.
Show time: It’s your show time now. Please hands up! Ss do the talk in groups.
Fourth time: Ss read the talk after the tape. Pay attention to the tone.
