Teaching procedures
Step 1 Pre-listening (10 mins) 1. Enjoy a video, then complete the passage 2.Check the answer together to review the key words: crazy, anywhere, pollution, advantages; and lead to the new words: careless, helmet. 2. Read the words aloud3. Look at the pictures to learn new phrases. Follow the teacher to read aloud Aim to attract students’ interests, according to the exciting video.
Step 2 while-listening(15mins) 1. Listen to 1a with questions (1) Where did the accident happen (2) What will Kangkang and Michael do next 2.Open the book to listen again and fill in the blanks in 1b individually. 3.Read 1a together, underline and translate the key sentences. (1) If we ride at night, we should have lights on the bicycle or wear light-colored clothes (2)If we break the traffic rules, we may get a fine 5.Read 1a after the teacher. Then practice the conversation in a role play. Designing different tasks to make students master 1a better.
Step 3Post- listening(15mins) 1.Look at the picture in 2a. Discuss and make sentences follow the example using if. Check the answers. Read the four sentences together. 2.Do 2b. Then read carefully and find out the rules of the Grammar: Adverbial Clauses of Condition. 3.Discuss in groups and conclude the rules of Adverbial Clauses of Condition 4. Do some optional exercise to consolidate. 5.Brainstorm. Survey your classmates about what should/ will you do if you have a lot of money. Then ask some students do a report. Looking at the sentences carefully then conclude the rules of Grammar, improve students’ skills. More exercise to consolidate the knowledge. Achieve the process of input to output English language.
Step 4 Summary(5mins) 1. Read the key points of this lesson 2. Do exercise Summarize what you have learned and further consolidate and extend the language knowledge and emotional penetration of this class.
Step 5 Homework: 1. Do exercise book in Section B 2. Review Adverbial Clauses of Condition Homework task is the inspection of teaching effect. Assigning students to complete writing task is an extension of classroom teaching task.
