Step 1 Review
1. Ask and answer questions, using the key sentences in Topic 3, Unit 5.
2. Lead to the new lesson according to the Ss’ conversations.
(意图:复习并导入新课的home主题。)
Step2: Leading-in
T: Oh, I see. This is my new home. Welcome to my home, kids. But there is nothing in it. How to design it I’m thinking about it. Aha, I’ve got an idea. I can visit three people’s homes. After that, I can learn a lot from it. Would you like to go with me
(意图:设置情景,让学生学习目的性更强。)
Step 2 : Pre-listening
1. Show a picture of Yang Mi. Tell the Ss that we’ll know about her home first.
(意图:用学生熟悉的人物,激发学生学习兴趣。)
2. Look and learn: Show a picture of a house, and teach the Ss new words.
Let’s get into the home and have a look. Wow, there are many rooms.
A room for watching TV . It’s a living room. A room for dining. It’s a dining room. A room for sleeping, we call it bedroom.
A room we use to have a bath and wash hands, we call it bathroom. Look, the bedroom is next to the bathroom. A room for preparing and cooking food. It’s a kitchen. A room for studying. It’s a study.
(意图:通过看图片,由外到内学习楼层、房间等生词,更有条理。)
4. Let the Ss retell the rooms in the house, including their usages.
(意图: 把刚学的表示房间的单词放入情境中进行巩固,并且让学生熟练说出这些房间的功能,为后面的输出做好铺垫。)
Step 3 While-listening
1. Look at the pictures and finish 1b directly.
2. Let the Ss read 1a and answer the following questions. Then check the answers.
1) Where is Jane’s bedroom
2) Where is Jane’s study
3) What’s in her study
3. Read 1a again and fill in the blanks in 1c. (学生自读文章,填空,掌握对话的细节信息。)
4. Listen to 1a, pay attention to the pronunciation and intonation.
5. Read by themselves. Then ask students to close the books and read in roles. Girls are Jane. Boys are Maria. (分角色朗读,主要是对重点短语,句型的首次熟悉。以及根据较多的关键词回顾整个对话。)
6. T:Our task is becoming harder and harder, can you do it Come on, boys and girls!(在熟悉对话的基础上,难度升级,根据个别关键词,回忆每一个长句和整个对话。让学生对本课的生词,短语,长句,以及整个对话牢固掌握。)
Step 4 Post- listening
1. Look at the picture and describe Jane’s home.
T: What’s on the first floor (老师板书,请四名学生分别作答。)
T:There is a kitchen, a dining room, a living room and a bathroom on the first floor.
T: What’s on the second floor (老师板书,请两名学生分别作答)

(意图:让学生根据填空的方式,理解并总结出there be句型的就近原则。)
2. Show a picture of Big Head Son and ask the Ss to describe his home in pairs.
T:Who is he After visiting Jane’s home, we come to another one’s home. I have a son like him. So I want to visit big head son’s home. Here we are. There are two floors in it. Let’s describe big head son’s home in pairs.
(意图:为学生创设较为真实的场景,让他们对本课所学生词,短语,What’s +sp. 以及There be…句型进行操练巩固,达到熟练运用。)
3. Lead back to the main task, design the new home in groups.
T:After visiting three people’s home, you must learn a lot from it. Please help me design my new home. Four students work in one group. I’ll give each group one card. One group try to help me design one room. One student draws a picture, other three students give him/her ideas. After finishing designing the room, please talk about it like this:
This is Lily’s bedroom. It’s on the second floor. There is a big bed, a chair, a clock in Lily’s bedroom. Lily can listen to the music on the chair and sleep in the bedroom.
(意图:创设真实的生活情景,帮助设计房间体现了英语作为一门语言的实用性;一方面培养了学生的想象力,合作精神,动手能力。另一方面,锻炼学生的口头表达能力,增强学生学习英语的自信。)
