I. Teaching aims
1.The students will be able to revise the development of computers and use the important expressions learnt in the unit.
2. The students will be able to describe the evolution of mobile phones with the expressions freely and correctly.
3. The students will be able to design a concept phone and introduce it with the key words.
II. Teaching important and difficult points
Use words and expressions properly.
Arouse imagination and creativity and cooperative learning.
III. Teaching procedures
Step I Lead-in
Show a video of a concept phone and the evolution of mobile phones to arouse the students’ interest and imagination.
Step II Revision
Show the pictures with timeline in different periods.
Review the development of computers period by period.
Retell the process. Through retelling, the students can have a better understanding of the computers and get ready for the next task.
Step III The evolution of mobile phones
Describe the evolution of mobile phones according to the timeline and key words.
Retell the process.
Read the passage about the evolution of mobile phones together.
Step IV Group work
Show 3 pictures of the advanced concept phones and talk about the features of them.
Design a concept phone in groups and make an introduction.The students will use their imagination to design an advanced concept phone.
Introduce the phone that the students have designed according to the key words.
Step V Assignment
Write down the introduction to the concept phone that you have designed.
