I.语言点精讲
1. Can you play the guitar?你会弹吉他吗?
①can为情态动词,意为“能,会”,表示能力,没有人称和数的变化,后接动词原形。
当询问对方是否有做某事的能力时,可用“Can you...?”这一句型。can为情态动词,意为“能,会”,后跟动词原形。此句为一般疑问句,其回答以yes或no开头。
eg:—Can you sing?你会唱歌吗?
—Yes,I can./ No,I can't.是的,我会。/不,我不会。
②play接乐器类名词时,意为“弹;吹奏;演奏”,名词前必须加定冠词the。
eg:play the piano 弹钢琴
play the violin 拉小提琴
【拓展】play后还可接球类、棋类、牌类名词,此时意为“打;踢;下”等,名词前不能加the。
eg:play basketball 打篮球
play chess 下国际象棋

②join意为“参加,加入”,后常接某个团体或组织,含有成为其中一员的意思;也可接人称代词的宾格形式,意为“和……一起从事某活动”。

3. speak English 说英语
speak v. 说(某种语言);说话
(1) speak在此作及物动词,意为“说(某种语言)”,其后常接表示语言的名词作宾语。
Can you speak Chinese 你会讲中文吗?
(2) speak还可作不及物动词,意为“说话”。通常指说话的能力或方式。
The baby can’t speak. 那个小宝宝不会说话。
Please speak a little slowly. 请讲慢一点儿。
打电话时,习惯用speak, 不用talk。
例如:Can I speak to Mary, please 请找玛丽说话好吗?
4. be good at sth. / doing sth… 表示“擅长于…; 精通…”,后面可接名词或动词的ing形式。
例如:Mr. Gu is good at language. He can speak eight languages.
顾先生精通多种语言,他会说八种语言。
Li Ping is good at basketball.
= Li Ping is good at playing basketball.
李平擅长于打篮球。

I’m good at math. = I do well in math. 我擅长于数学。
be good at 的反义词组为:be poor /weak at /in
do well in 的反义词组为:do badly in
Wu Dong does badly in his lessons.

5. tell 意为“告诉”, 并常与story连用,意为“讲故事”。例如:
When I was young, my mother often told me stories in the evening.
在我小的时候,妈妈晚上常给我讲故事。

tell / speak / say 的区别
say:是最口语化的最普通的一个词,意为“说出”、“说道”,着重所说的话的内容。如:
“I'm sorry,” he said. “对不起,”他说。
Could you say it again, please 请再说一遍好吗?
speak: 着重“讲话这一动作本身, 既可指系统的长篇讲话, 又可指简单的开口发音, 在会议上正式发言用speak;speak在用作及物动词时,宾语一般是语言或词语之类的词。如:
The baby is learning to speak. 那个婴儿在学说话。
I know of the man, but I’ve never spoken to him.
我知道这个人, 不过从来没有和他说过话。
He spoke at the meeting.他在会上发言了。
tell: “告诉”,除较少情况外,一般后面总接双宾语。如:
He’s telling me a story. 他在给我讲故事。
句型:tell sb. to do sth. \ tell sb. not to do sth.
