Unit5 Seasons (Grade4 the 1st lesson)
The analysis of the teaching material:
It’s a reading passage; it plays a vital role in the teaching of this unit, which is about the weather and activities of the four seasons. By learning this lesson, students can describe and communicate the four seasons in order to improve their oral English. Meanwhile, they can know the nature environment and climate.
The analysis of the students:
The students in grade4 firstly make use of the new textbook, so their English levels and abilities are different. In need our teachers deal with this lesson actively and vividly in order to arouse their interests. Because their young age, our teachers can set some games and give them the chance to act the text, which can make them learn this lesson easily.
Teaching aims:
Knowledge aims:
1. From this text, students can listen, say, read and write the words: spring, summer, autumn, winter, warm, hot, cool and cold.
2. Students can listen, say, read and write the phrases: go boating, fly kites, eat ice creams, go swimming, have picnics, go climbing, make snowmen and go skating.
Ability aims:
1. Students can describe the weather and activities like the sentences :
In spring, it’s warm, we can go boating and fly kites.
Emotion aims:
1. Students can know the nature environment and climate.
Teaching points and difficulties:
1. How to present these words and phrases: fly kites, go boating, eat ice creams, have picnics, go climbing, and make snowmen and go skating, season, spring, summer, winter, warm, hot, cool and cold.
2. How to talk about the weather and activities in four seasons.

Step2 Presentation
1. Learn the names of the four seasons and spell them.
2. Watch the cartoon and try to say something about the weather in four seasons.
3. Learn the words to describe the four seasons:
It’s warm in spring. It’s hot in summer.
It’s cool in autumn. It’s cold in winter.
【设计意图】:通过看动画让学生自己找出描述四季的词语,发挥学生的学习自主性。
4. Find the answer and fill in the form, which students can know the activities about the four seasons.

1. Work in group to choose the season they like to say the weather and activities.
【设计意图】:小组合作任选一个季节去描述天气和活动,复习本节课的内容同时,也训练了学生的口语。
2. Happy reading time: read after the tape and imitate the intonation and pronunciation.
3. Choose the reading way they like to practice the reading.
【设计意图】:四年级学生要注重读书训练,在跟读磁带模仿正确的语音语调,利用多样化的阅读方式让学生快乐的读英语。
1. Act time: work in four people to act the text.
2. Make a poem in four people.
