常用引导词：if,unless
特殊引导词：as/so long as,only if,providing/provided that,suppose/supposing that,in case that,on condition that,in the event of.

此时，providing和provided都为连词，可换用。
He's welcome to come along, provided that he behaves himself.

We'll buy everything you produce, provided/providing the price is right.
只要价钱合适，我们会买你们生产的任何东西。
考点7.suppose/supposing
此时，suppose和supposing都为连词，可以换用
Suppose we miss the train-what will we do then 如果我们错过了火车，那么我们该怎么办
We'd love to come and see you on Saturday, supposing(=if) I don't have to work that day.
如果周六我不必工作的话，我会来看你。

两者的意义和用法相同，引出的扶语从句谓语多用虚拟语气，表示与事实相反;有时也用陈述语气，表示所说情况是事实或实现的可能性较大。汉语常译作“仿佛……似的”，“好像……似的
He looks as if ( as though ) he had been hit by lighting.他那样子就像被雷击了似的。
(与事实相反，谓语用虚拟语气。)
It looks as if the weather may pick up very soon看来天气很快就会好起来。
(实现的可能性较大，谓语用陈述语气、)
说明:as if/as though也可以引导一个分词短语。不定式短语或无动词短语。
He stared at me as if seeing me for first time
他目不转睛地看着我，就像第一次看见我似的 .
He cleared his throat as if to say something.他清了清嗓子，像要说什么似的
The waves dashed on the rocks as if in anger.波涛冲击着岩石，好像很愤怒

考点1.so that引导目的状语从句
先来分析区别以下一组句子:
We paid him immediately so that he left contented.
我们立即给他付了款，结果他满意地走了。(结果)
We paid him immediately so that he would leave contented.
我们立即给他付了款，以便让他满意地离去。(目的)
可以看出:so that引导的状语从句中有情态动词(can could,may,might,should,would)时，是目的状语从句;如果没有情态动词时多是结果状语从句.

in case 可以引导目的状语从句，“以免，以防”

in case 也可引导条件状语从句，相当于if.

特殊引导词:such that, to the degree that, to the extent that. to such a degree that
考点5.so...that与such...that之间的转换
so和 such的用法由so与such的不同词性决定。such是形容词，修饰名词或名词词组:so是副词，只能修饰形容词或副词。如:so foolish: such a fool.
The flower is so beautiful that we all like it.
------it s such a nice flower that we all like it.
hey are such beautiful flowers that we all like them.
但是如果名词被形容词 many,few,much,little 修饰时，则不能用such,仍要用so.如：
such nice flowers: so many / few flowers ;such clear water;so much/ little water
另外:He is such a good boy that we all like him.
= He is so good a boy that we all like him.(参看形容词副词考点P.43考点4)

当so that 表示“以致，结果”时，引导结果状语从句，从句中通常不含情态动词。如:

常用引导词:though,although,even if. even though.
特殊引导词:as(用在让步状语从句中必须要倒装)。no matter...; in spite of the fact that,;while,
whatever, whoever, wherever. Whenever,however. whichever.
考点1.though,although
注意:当有though.although时，后面的从句不能有but，但是可以和ye连用。因为yet可以作连词也可以作副词。(参看P.11考点6)

考点2.as,though 引导的倒装句
as/though引导的让步从句，把表语或状语提前。

注意:句首名词不能带任何冠词，句首是实义动词，其他助动词放在主语后，如果实义动词有宾语和获语，随实义动词一起放在主语之前。
Try hard as he will. he never seems able to do the work satisfactorily,
=Though he tries hard. he never seems able to do the work satisfactorily.
虽然他尽了努力。但他的工作总做得不尽如人意。

考点3.even if,even though
两个复合连词的意思基本相同。它们常可互换使用，但意义有细微差别。Even if引导的让步从句含有强烈的假定性，而even though 引导让步状语从句时，是以从句的内容为先决条件的，也就是说，说话人肯定了从句的事实。如:
Even if he is poor, she loves him.(=He may be poor. yet she loves him.)
即使他很穷，但她还是爱他
Even though he is poor, she loves him.(=He is poor, yet she loves him.)
尽管他很穷，但她还是爱他。
