Last month, our teachers took us having a barbecue(烧烤)on the beach at Dameisha. We grouped together at school and got on a bus. It was a long trip and it took about one and a half hours. Finally, we arrived at 10:00 am. Everyone was a little tired. Then we got some free time, so some students went to the beach while our teachers and the rest of the students went to the barbecue site.
When we were preparing for the barbecue meal, something happened. Ann, a girl on the beach, shouted for help. We hurried there to see what happened. We saw Mary lying on the sand. Her face was red. She got a heatstroke. Some teachers carried her to the medical room quickly and everyone was worried about Mary. A few minutes later, Mary woke up and all of us felt relaxed. “It’s not a big deal. Take a short rest and she’ll be all right.” said the doctor. We returned to the beach and had the barbecue.

Many people enjoy watching movies in a cinema. They think the cinema has a better atmosphere (气氛) to enjoy the movie. However, I think people are happier and freer when watching movies at home.
Watching movies at home is more comfortable. To watch movies in a cinema, you have to buy the ticket before you go there for a better seat. However, there is no need for people at home to worry about the ticket. They can enjoy movies at any time they like and with the most comfortable seat. What’s more, people watching movies at home wouldn’t have to face any traffic (交通) problem.
It is free to watch movies at home. In the cinema, we’d better not go outside and do something else because the movie won’t wait for us. Sometimes, if we miss part of the movie, we cannot follow the story. At home, we can pause at any time and go back to watch any part.
All in all, a cinema is a good place to watch movies, but it isn’t the best place to enjoy the movies. I think watching movies at home is better.

When you are down, be sure everything can be different tomorrow. If you can’t do something today, try it tomorrow. We do know some days will be difficult and some days will be great. Try to look forward to tomorrow’s fresh start.
When you feel sad, do something you love, something that’s relaxing. It could be shopping, singing, reading or doing sports. If you do, you will feel really relaxed.

Anger is a kind of feeling. Many things can make you angry. When your teacher gives you too much homework, when your team loses an important game, when a friend borrows your favorite thing and then breaks it, you may get really angry.
Usually, your body will tell you when you are angry. For example, you breathe faster, your face turns red, and you may want to break something or hit someone, but sometimes, you hide your anger. For example, you may hide it in your heart. The problem is that if you do this, you may get a headache or your stomach may hurt.
When you get angry, you can talk about it with other people. It’s helpful to talk about your anger with an adult, such as parents, a teacher, etc. Remember that how you act when you are angry can make everything better or worse. Don’t let your anger control you.

Dear Mike,
As a class monitor, I do my best to be a good example to other students. But it makes me feel exhausted (疲劳的). There are quite a few problems my teachers think I can solve, but in fact, I can’t. What should I do
Cathy
Dear Cathy,
You already said it yourself ― you always do your best. That’s really all you can do, isn’t it That’s the most that all of us can do. No one is perfect (完美的) and everyone fails from time to time. But as long as you know in your heart that you’ve done your best, you shouldn’t feel too bad about anything.
If you really feel like your workload (工作量) is too much, talk to your teachers about it. You shouldn’t have to feel exhausted every day. Find a better way to balance (平衡) your schoolwork and being a monitor.
Just remind yourself that you won’t always be able to solve every problem. If you try to please (取悦) everyone, you might end up pleasing no one. Just try to be the best monitor you can be. Your teachers will be proud (自豪) of you for doing the best job possible.

It is necessary to share your feelings with others. Sharing your feelings can help you to get closer to people who you care about and who care about you.
Sometimes it can be really hard to tell someone that you’re feeling sad, worried or upset. But don’t keep the feelings locked inside. If that, it can even make you fall sick!
But if you talk with someone who cares about you, like your mother or father, you will not be all alone with your problems or worries. It doesn’t mean your problems and worries go off, but at least someone else knows what are your troubles and helps you to find ways to deal with them.
If a person doesn’t understand what you mean right away, try explaining it in a different way or give an example that has something to do with you. Of course, there are many ways for you to tell your feelings. If you think you’ll have troubles saying what’s in your mind, write it down on a piece of paper.
Some children, just like some adults, are more private than others. That means some children will feel shyer about sharing their feelings. A child doesn’t have to share every feeling he or she has, but it is important to share feelings when he or she needs help.

If you find yourself feeling a little less cheerful than you were when days are going from summer to autumn, it’s not your imagination: there is a science-backed reason you feel unhappy easily in the cooler months.
“It’s real,” said Kathryn Roecklein. “The changes don’t always affect everyone in the same way,” she added. “But seasonal mood changes often include less energy, feeling less social, losing interest in favorite activities and changes in sleep — you may have trouble sleeping or want to sleep more than usual.”
There are a lot of reasons why our moods change with the season, but a big factor (因素) is ______. “The hours of day, which are shortest in winter and longest in summer, are the main reason.” Roecklein said. Sunsets are getting earlier and earlier when autumn begins, so it’s not surprising if you feel those mood changes around the same time.
We should remember that “winter blues” is not something we cannot overcome (克服). Here are a few things you can do. First, get yourself bathed in the sun. A walk outside in the sun in the morning will surely make you feel better. Secondly, eat healthily. Try more fruit, vegetables and drink plenty of water. Besides, make time for your friends. When was the last time you went to your local library Last week A month ago A year ago
For many reasons, fewer and fewer people borrow books from libraries. With the development of technology, it is now possible for people to download and read whatever they like on electronic devices(电子设备)such as Kindles. It has been argued that doing this is cheaper than buying books. They are also lightweight, making them easier to carry.
Call me old-fashioned, but I’ve never got into the e-book: I like to have printed books lining my bookshelves; I love the smell of a new book; and I enjoy leafing through paper pages一as long as I keep myself away from the paper cuts! Also, what would collection if everything I read was electronic
So, even though I like paper books better than e-books, I would also like to own them myself. Libraries only lend books, so what use are they to someone like me, or to someone who only reads electronic books
▲ They offer a quiet space to sit, read, think, and do research ... a real running way from the outside world. When I was at university, I often spent hours at the library and borrowed lots of journals, articles and other printed materials, as it was just too expensive to buy new books every week to read. Libraries are free!
Libraries often organize interesting activities as well. For example, well-known writers are invited to libraries to give speeches or lead discussions about their books. Events such as these are a great way to appeal(吸引)to people of all ages in the community and encourage the use of libraries.
There are still many fantastic ways to use libraries—maybe we just need to be more awake to them!
26.Why do fewer people borrow books from libraries
A.People can’t keep borrowed books as long as they want.
B.People need to pay some money for the books.
C.People can’t find books they like in libraires.
D.People like e-books better than traditional paper books.
27.Which of the following can be put in the ▲
A.Personally, I still love libraries.
B.Whether you admit it or not, I have to say libraries are out of date.
C.To be honest, I have lost interest in libraries.
D.Will libraries disappear in the near future
28.The writer gives the example in Paragraph 6 to ______.
A.show how important libraries are for improving the quality of people’s lives
B.help readers clearly understand how libraries try their best to interest more people
C.tell readers the reason why libraries are less popular with people of all ages
D.explain when and where libraries often organize such interesting activities
29.What’s the main purpose of writing this text
A.To compare e-books with paper books. B.To introduce different libraries in our lives.
C.To encourage people to make use of libraries. D.To explain why people do no like paper books.

Dear Mom and Dad,
The time has come. I’m graduating (毕业), and I thank you both for all your help during these 13 years. I still remember when you used to say, “You can be whatever you want.” I’m so glad you are my parents, especially when I hear kids say they don’t get on well with theirs. I’m glad that you support (支持) me when I decide to do anything. You always try to help, and that’s important to me.
Dad, I remember when you first took me fishing. I loved going even though I never caught anything. I also remember when you would get angry with me. This is a letter from a pet dog to his master(主人).
“Dear master, when you took me away from my mum, it was snowing heavily. You kept me in your arms, and that made me feel very warm and comfortable. I’ve been with you for about a year so far, but I’m afraid you don’t know me quite well, so I decide to write this letter to you.
I’ll live for ten to fifteen years before leaving this world. I enjoy every moment being with you. So I’m always sad when I stay away from you.
Please give me time to understand what you want me to do. Don’t lock me up if you are angry with me. Don’t leave me alone all the time. You have your work and your friends. But I only have you.
Talk to me sometimes. Although I don’t understand your words, I can tell from your voice whether you are happy or sad. Please don’t treat me badly when you are unhappy. Remember that: however you treat me, I will never forget it. And if you treat me terribly, it will have a bad influence on me for a long time.
Before you hit me, remember that I have sharp teeth that could easily hurt you, but that I choose not to. You are my master, I can never hurt you.
