1.If we are not confident about ourselves, we may feel upset or nervous.

confident adj “自信的”
be confident about...意为“对……有信心”。
如：Our team is confident about winning the basketball game.

be confident in...意为“对某人有信心”。

be proud of...=take (a) pride in 以……为骄傲
e.g. I am proud of my mother.=I take(a) pride in my mother.我为母亲感到骄傲。
5. give sb. a surprise=give a surprise to sb.给某人一个惊喜
1) 此句中surprise是名词，意为“惊喜，惊奇”。
to one’s surprise 使某人惊奇的是
2) surprised作表语形容词
be surprised to do sth. 做某事感到惊奇；
be surprised at sth. 对某事感到惊奇
3) surprising既可作表语，又可作定语。
e.g. a surprising story 一个惊人的故事

6. 1)put on在这里意为“上映,放映”。
它还有“穿上,戴上”之意，反义词组为take off 脱掉，脱下。
e.g. They are putting on a new movie.
他们正在放映一部新电影。
put常见的短语还有
put sth.away 把某物收拾好；
put off 推迟；put up 挂起，举起，贴（广告等）；
put out 扑灭，熄灭；put down 记下，放下等。

它还可以作动词，意为“打，踢，玩，弹”。

7. get ready for sth.意为“为某事做准备”，后跟名词、代词、动名词。
与“prepare for sth.”同义。
get ready to do sth.=prepare to do sth. 准备做某事
e.g. We get ready to take walk/We prepare to take a walk. 我们去散步。
