The analysis of teaching material This class is from go for it 8B Unit 2-I’ll help to clean up the city parks.This unit focus on charity and volunteering.The teaching content is from section B 2a-2c,it’s about a person called Ben wrote a letter to thank Miss Li for giving money to Animal Helpers.After this class,students learn to offer help to others.
The analysis of students After three terms’ study in middle school,the students have had the ability of learning the new words,reading articles and understanding the meaning of the most sentences.According to this class,they can improve their reading skills---guess the meaning of the new words,understand the important sentences,find the specific information in the article...
The design philosophy students are the masters,teacher is the guide in the class.During the class,teacher should encourage all the students to take part in the activities,not just teaches knowledge to them.Improve students’ ability.This class is a reading class,so through this class,students should learn to think,find specific information,solve problems...Use the teaching material reasonably,the teacher is its host.Teacher should choose the content wisely .so it’s important to combine the teaching content with students’ facts.

Study the teaching material and research the standard curriculum and syllabus(新课程标准和教学大纲)to master the aim of this lesson. According to the content and the students’ facts to design the teaching process and exercise.Prepare the teaching tools. Preview the new words in thispassage,and read the passage carefully by themselves. If students learn the new words and read the passage before class,they will follow the teacher more easily.

Step 1:(1 min.) Play a video.in the video,some people say” thank you for everything”to others to show their appreciation. Watch a video that the teacher plays on the screen,when watching the video,students should think what the people say and how they thank to others. 1.to catch students’ attention about the topic.2.to prepare for the next step.
Step 2:(2 min.) Discuss 2a with students.First,present the title of 2a and give students 1 minutes to think of the some ways to thank others.Then present some pictures and phrases about how to thank someone who helps others. Finish 2a.First,follow the teacher to known the task in 2a,then discuss the ways of thanking someone who helps them.Finally,look at the screen and learn the example the teacher gives. After watching the video,the students have known that we can thank others by face to face.so,in this step,teacher can let students think other ways to thank people.According to this task,students can come up with many ideas,beside writing a letter to thank others.It’s the preparation for the next step.
Step 3(2 min.) 1.present a picture of a letter on the screen.2.Present the passage.3.Present two questions.4.Lead students to discuss the questions and choose some students to answer them. Observe the letter and passage on the screen,and know its type is a thank-you letter with the teacher’s help.Think of the two questions and answer them. Through this task,students will know the type of this passage and some information about it.It’s a preparation for the next step.
Step 4:( 3min.) First,present the main ideas of the four paragraphs with incorrect orders.Then Play the record of the letter for the students.Lead students to listen to the record with looking at the letter,then finish the task 1 in the paper. Finally,check the correct orders with students. Read the four sentences on the paper.Then listen to the record of the letter and look at the letter,next,finish the task 1 on the paper.Finally,check the answers with teacher. After this task,students can understand the main ideas of each paragraph,and know the main structure of the letter.
Step 5 :(20 min.) Present the four paragraphs one by one on the screen.After each paragraph,there is a task.Lead students to read each paragraphs carefully and finish the corresponding tasks.After students finish each task,teacher correct the answer with them. Read each paragraph carefully and finish the task on the paper.If students don’t understand the meanings of the new words ans the phrases,they can watch the letter on the screen.Teacher gives the meaning of them.After finishing the task of each paragraph, students can check the answer in the group first,then check them with the teacher. During this task,students can master the new words and phrases .If students want to finish the tasks,they must know the meaning of each word,each phrase and each sentence,so they will try their best to know the new words’ and phrases’ meaning. According to this task,students will know the details of the letter,and improve their reading skill.
Step 6 (5min.) Lead students to finish the task 6 on the paper.then ask some students to check the answers with reading the full sentences. Finish the task 6 on the paper,after finishing it,students can discuss the answer with partner.Finally,students can stand up to check the answers with full sentences. Students review the important words ,phrases and sentences.Understand the content of the letter as a whole.
Step 7:(2min) Present some pictures on the screen about some people helps others.Lead students to understand that we should help someone who needs help in our daily life. Follow the teacher to observe the pictures on the screen,understand we should help someone who needs help in our daily life. Emotional education:lead students to learn to help others.
Step 8 :(1min.) Present a picture on the screen and a video,lead students to know that when we get help from other people,we should thank them.Teacher can do the finger dance with students. Observe the picture,understand the meaning of “thanks giving”,understand we should thank someone who helps us.Finally,do the finger gesture dance of the video with teacher. Emotional education:lead students to learn to appreciate someone who helps us.
homework(5 min.) Give students the exercise paper to finish the task.If they can finish them in the class,they can finish them after the class. Finish the exercise on the paper in the class or after the class. To check if students mater the basic knowledge.

Learning estimate After this class,most students can master the basic vocabulary,but because some new words are a little difficult ,a few students can’t remember them well.Also,this class aims to improve students’ reading skill,so it’s important for them to finish the tasks about the letter carefully during the activities.For the worse students,they can’t give up,they must try their best to think and finish the tasks and exercises as possible as they can.
Teaching introspection I think the teaching process is fluent,most students can follow the teacher to finish the tasks and grasp the important and difficult point.But maybe some students can’t understand the content easily,because there are so many new words,which make it difficult to understand the letter.and some students may be not interested in the content of this class,so I’m not sure all of the students can master the teaching aims.In the next class,I will make the teaching material close students condition.
