Unit 1 Can you play the guitar
Section A (1a-2d)
一 .Teaching goals:
1. Knowledge goals
(1) To master some new words: dance, sing, swim, draw , speak English, play the guitar, play chess, and so on.
(2) To master the usage of modal verb“can”.
2. Ability goals
(1) Use “can” to talk about one’s abilities and likes.
(2) Arouse students’ interest in English by group work, and help students to form good learning habits.
3. Emotion goals:
To help students to love English, show their abilities, and communicate with other people actively.
二、教学重难点
1. 教学重点:
(1) 学习询问和谈论彼此的能力和特长;
(2)掌握一些弹奏乐器的表达方式。
2. 教学难点:
情态动词can的基本用法,即无人称和数的变化。 能正确运用所学词汇描述某人在某一方面的才能。
三、教学方法
1.多媒体教学法
通过展示形象的活动图片,使学生直观地学习并掌握词汇,并能让学生通过图片感知.领会知识和具体实践操作所学知识。
2.互动教学法
英语课堂离不开互动教学。所以在教学过程中采用师生互动和生生互动的方法完成教学任务来达到良好的教学效果,让所有的知识都融会在语言交流中,简化英语语法。这样不至于使学生对英语有畏惧感,相反会让学生渐渐喜欢英语并乐于学习这门课。
3.小组合作法
通过小组合作互助学习和调查法培养学生综合运用语言能力,敢于表达的能力和互助合作精神。
四、教学过程
Step Ⅰ: Lead in
Play and teach a song “Can you sing ” to make the class active. 同时展示一些演奏乐器的图片、声音以及动作示范引出话题: I can play the guitar.然后询问学生:Can you play the guitar .并引导学生进行简单的回答。
【设计意图】本课时主要学习can的用法,因此采取视频、音乐、图片等导入法,调动学生参与学习的兴趣并使学生更加直观的了解本课内容,过渡简单自然。
Step2: Presentation
出示一些反映各种活动的图片、幻灯片或播放课件,引导学生谈论活动: Show Ss the pictures and help Ss to understand the new words and key sentences. Help them to say what the person is doing in the picture. Ask Ss to read the new words, and make sure that everyone can understand the meanings and read them correctly. Then practice dialogues one by one.
T: Can you dance/swim/sing/draw/play chess/speak English/play the guitar
S1: Yes, I can./No I can’t. Can you

【设计意图】图片教学法是呈现新知识最简单有效的方法之一,学生通过图片,能更直观的理解新单词和句型的含义以及培养用学生的英语思维能力。
Step3:Group work
Show kinds of pictures as quickly as possible. Let Ss say the new words and take turns to make small conversations in groups.

【设计意图】通过小组互动合作学习,使不同层次学生在互助合作中初步掌握目标语言并能熟练运用所学句型,培养学生语言运用能力,敢于表达的能力和合作精神。
Show pictures and guide Ss to practice and master the sentences of expressing abilities according to the signs of faces.
T: What can you do

Play a guessing game, ask students to guess what people can do by looking at the pictures and acting.
【设计意图】通过游戏的形式引导学生进一步灵活掌握运用句型,并使学生能在学中乐,在乐中学。
Show some pictures of disabled people, guide Ss to talk about what they can do, so that we can educate students to have a positive attitude to the life and try to work hard and achieve their dreams.
Step4:Listening
1. Listen to the tape, find out the right conversation, and number them1-3.
2. Work on 2a and 2b.
T: Now, look at the pictures on P2, listen to the four conversations. Just listen.
(Play the recording for the first time, students only listen carefully.) Then, listen to the recording again, and circle the clubs you hear and complete the sentences in 2b. Check the answers with the class.
【设计意图】此环节着重是听力训练。让学生在听对话的过程中抓住关键词汇,由于前面已做了一些训练,因此学生听起来比较容易,让他们都有一次成功的喜悦和感受,这样可以增强他们的学习自信心。 Step5:Making a survey
Show kinds of clubs and guide some students to make a survey about what people can do and what clubs they want to join, and complete the survey chart.

2. Ask some volunteers to do the report in front of class.

【设计意图】本环节通过做调查的形式,既能充分练习学生的目标语言,使学生学以致用,提高英语口语交际能力,同时也能极大的调动学生们的课堂参与率,并且能为学生提供一个自我展示,实践自身价值的空间。

1. Remember the new words and expressions after class.
2. Make a survey and write a report like that above.
