Teaching aims :

(1)Students can master the new words about weather: hot, cold, warm, cool, weather;
(2)Students can master the key sentences in this part: It’s warm/cool/hot/cold in Beijing/…;

(3)Students can use the language to describe weather easily;

(1)Students can improve their listening and speaking abilities;
(2)Students can describe the weather in different areas.

(1)Can cooperate with others actively, and complete the tasks together;
(2) Can improve the confidence of learning English, and not afraid of speaking English in class;
(3)Can understand that the weather in different areas.

Key points
(1) Listen, speak , read new words about weather: hot, cold, warm, cool, weather;
(2)Use the new words and key sentences to talk about weather.
Difficult points
(1)Can improve the confidence of learning English, and not afraid of speaking English;
(2)Can understand that different area has different weather.
Teaching procedure:
Step1. Warm-up
1. Greeting.
2. Let’s sing :Thunder.
Step2. Lead-in and Presentation.
Use Let’s do last class to lead the weather report.
T: Go to the TV room, watch TV. Now Let’s watch TV together. What can you see?
1. Learn the new word—weather.( Use the words: father ,mother to guide )
2. Learn the English names of the four cities: Harbin, Beijing, Lhasa, Hong Kong
3. Learn the new word---cold. hot, cold, warm, cool.(with the help of PPT and the method of spelling )
4.Listen and imitate the pronunciation.(Correct in time)
5.Game : What’s missing (with the help of PPT)
Step4. Practice and Consolidation
1. Use the chant to practice the sentences.
2.Present the sentences: It’s hot in Hong Kong/… today. (with the help of PPT)
Consolidation:
T:Do you want to be a weather reporter
1. Challenge 1 ---Use the words to Fill in the blanks.
2. Challenge 2---To be a reporter.
3. Let’s act.
Group work: Discuss in groups and then act as a weather reporter.
Step4. Sum-up.
Step5. Homework.
Introduce the weather to their parents or friends after class.
Make a chant about weather.
